Creations, Early Fall Centerpiece
Happy September!
I am slowly transitioning my home decor to fall
The boys brought home these beautiful Summer Roses several weeks ago
and I enjoyed them so much
When they started to look tired I couldn’t bear to throw them away…
So I hung them upside down to dry
I love these faded colors for early fall
I pushed the moss down into this decorative box
so I could add some straw to mix in with it
Now I had a bed to build the centerpiece on
I gathered mini white faux pumpkins and spools of ribbon and got to work
I placed the pumpkins on the straw and moss
and tucked the roses around them
The final touch was wrapping a ribbon around the box
and weaving a strand of gold leaves around the pumpkins

I like the addition of your dried flowers to your small crate of mini pumpkins. Very nice! I too am making the transition in my mind to fall. We are up north visiting friends at their cabin and there is an outdoor market nearby with a wonderful display of pumpkins. Seeing them and the awesome bonfires we’ve had has brought fall into focus, although it is hard to say good bye to summer.
Pumpkins are the reward for saying goodbye to summer! I haven’t seen any for sale around here yet, but they should start showing up after Labor Day…a evening bonfire sounds like so much fun, enjoy your stay with friends Cyndi!
This centerpiece is so lovely, Jenna. I’ve never dried flowers before. Does hanging them upside down keep the petals from falling off? I’m slowly getting in the mood for fall: I’m hanging on to summer for as long as possible because I just can’t imagine what is ahead for the holiday season. It’s my turn to host Thanksgiving for the family, and I’m afraid it’s not going to happen. I’ll be sooo disappointed. Looking forward to the Fall Blog Hop!
hi Rosie, I’m not an expert on drying flowers, I just put a rubber band around them and hung them upside down in the laundry room, some petals still fell off but the blooms stayed mostly in tact. I hope you get to host Thanksgiving, and being in Calif maybe you could even do it outside…I hope you have a nice Labor Day weekend!

Thank you Sarah, I wish I had a dough bowl! We are having an extended family weekend at the beach, all activities outside so we can stay safe…I can’t believe it’s September and Labor Day already!
Long, skinny boxes are so versatile. This looks really pretty with the pumpkins. Looking forward to digging out mine. Those roses are extra pretty!

Your centerpiece is so pretty. Drying flowers can be so awesome for future centerpieces. I love the faded flower look. The runner along with the candles is a great look for fall. I need to get busy.
