Home Decor & Tablescapes, Falling for Pumpkins

After a family filled weekend,

everyone left except for DD and her family

We were able to enjoy a low key day together

before they had to go home

CC was closely looking at our seasonal tree and she said,

“Gigi, I think it’s time to take down these summery things,

it’s fall now you know!”

“Well,” I said, ” I think you’re right,

maybe you can even help me do it later”

“Let’s do it now!!” she exclaimed,

and off we went to get the box of fall decorations

She did the whole tree by herself

except for the top part which I decorated with her direction

She did a great job!!

Then she said, “Gigi, now we have to do the pillows!”

So off we went to the “pillow closet”

We swapped out the summer pillows for pumpkins and sunflowers

As she was fluffing the pillows,

I replaced the flamingos and tropical flowers on the island bar top

with a rustic vase of sunflowers and leaves,

and a striped pumpkin and colorful owl

Then a few pumpkins for a table centerpiece

and we declared it done!

After a couple more days of R & R,

I went back to the city

The first place I wanted to go to was Trader Joe’s…

I hadn’t been in 6 months!

Guess what they had?

Pumpkins!

Needless to say,

a few jumped into my cart,

along with sunflowers, mums and mini carnations,

and I was in heaven!

I happily began stacking pumpkins,

arranging flowers and setting the table

It is always exciting when a new season begins

and calls for a change of decor

Each place got a mini pumpkin stack and a vase of flowers

on top of a pumpkin truck plate

Even though I hate that summer is over,

I must admit…

I’m Falling for Pumpkins...

Juicy Details

I was very impressed with the sanitation protocol at Trader Joe’s, everyone is masked, they greet you at the door and sanitize your hands, then give you a cart that has been thoroughly wiped clean and sanitized. They make sure the checkout lines are safely distanced.

I got these plates last year on Overstock.com, they are currently out of stock but you can request an email telling you when they are available again here

  1. CC is the perfect little decorator…she did a great job on the tree. The tablescape in the city is giving me all the fall feels. It speaks of my favorite season. I hope to do a little fall decorating this afternoon. Did you have to wait a long time to get into Trader Joe’s?

    Happy Sunday, Jenna!

  2. I love your beachy pumpkins! It doesn’t look TOO fall! You are so lucky to have a partner in decor! She sounds like a little go-getter. I think I need her for some motivation!

    • Oh goodness, a new lab puppy! You have your work cut out for you I know, wow, a puppy is like having a baby, constant care!! I hope you get some fall decorating done Rosie, and that your puppy doesn’t try to eat your pumpkins!!

CC is a great little helper for you plus its so much fun together! I adore your seasonal tree, always inspires me to get busy. Love all the fall decorating at the beach house, so pretty. I’m sure it was hard to leave. But, I know you love city life as well and decorating your beautiful home to perfection. I know that was a fun run for you through Trader Joe’s, and so many pretty pumpkins. Gorgeous table and love the Taylor and pumpkin vignette. I have got to get there soon!

    • CC is so cute, she gets SOO excited when she can help me do something! Now of course we are worrying about Hurricane Sally, doesn’t sound good…I thought of you Emily the whole time I was at TJ’s it was such a treat! I really think you would feel safe going, I went around 10 am and it wasn’t crowded at all.
