Recipe Box, Melt in Your Mouth Magic Biscuits

This recipe is called magic biscuits because they are truly magic!
Not only are they seriously EASY,
all you need is Bisquick, 7-UP or Sprite, sour cream and butter*
*The level of salt in salted butter varies by brand
so it is better to use unsalted butter so you have control
over the amount in your recipes
Melt the butter directly in your 8×8 baking dish.
Combine the baking mix with the soda and sour cream
This will form a wet, sticky dough.
Just drop it by blobs into the melted butter
and spread it around with your fingers
{dip fingers in flour so dough doesn’t stick}
until it is in an even layer in the dish
With a sharp knife, score the dough into 12-16 biscuits
Pop in the oven at 450, 12-15 minutes, until they are golden

These sound amazing Jenna! And easy and delicious! I’m pinning this one!
Have a Merry Day!
Thanks Nancy!
Wow. I’ve come to find sour cream as a magic ingredient in baking for moistness. This is worth a try!
Yes, sour cream is wonderful in so many ways!
Jenna, I have heard about this recipe and it certainly is easy. I have all the ingredients, I am going to try them. Who doesn’t like a great biscuit?
I like these because they are soft, and they do seem to melt in your mouth!
I would never have thought to add Sprite to a biscuit mix. My curiosity is definitely piqued.
It’s an old Southern recipe I think, been around for ages…
Your biscuits do sound like magic Jenna!
thanks Mary 🙂
This is definitely super easy. I suppose the soda would add no more sugar than if you put sugar in it, although it feels like they’d be too sweet — but maybe not! I do love using sour cream, too. This one looks like a winner.
They are very easy Jeanie, I don’t have much patience for bread making, but I love quick breads like these biscuits 🙂
Jenna, these sound wonderful! I’m definitely making these this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Jenna, these looks delicious! I’m definitely making these this weekend. Thanks so much for sharing!
thank you Shannon, I hope you enjoy!
They look SO good! I usually just make drop biscuits but I’m definitely going to give these a try!
Thanks Martha, I hope you love them!
Jenna, do you usually serve these for breakfast or as the bread for dinner/supper? I used to make mayonaise rolls all the time when I was a newlywed. I had a recipe that would fit my 6 muffin tin. I would trade a portion of my meat entree with my husband for his extra rolls. Those were the days when I didn’t get up and find the extra rolls as extra rolls in my figure. LOL!!
😂 I haven’t made these for breakfast Rhonda, only as a side with dinner, soup or salad…but they’d be great for breakfast! Mayonnaise rolls sound great, I bet they’re very similar!
My mouth is watering just looking at the photos. I haven’t made these biscuits in ages, but I do remember that they were SO good!
Thanks Pattie!
Soft drinks show up in the most interesting recipes! This looks really good.
This is an old Southern recipe, not sure how it works, but it does make soft and delicious biscuits!
My family loves homemade biscuits and I absolutely have to try this recipe, it sounds delicious Jenna. I’m adding the ingredients to my shopping list now. I don’t think I can wait for family, I’ll try these this weekend. Thanks, just in time for a good weekend breakfast.
You’re so welcome Emily, I hope you love them!
Absolutely amazing. Good old bisquick. Off to the store to buy bisquick. Thanks for sharing the magic biscuits.
I know, right? Good old Bisquick!
I’m in! Hehe, love bread of all kinds and this sounds too good to pass up. Pinning! Will be making soon. 😋 Thank you!
Thank you Cyndi, this is an old Southern staple!
Oh my goodness..another easy recipe! These would go great with those short ribs!
Yes, they sure would, what a great idea Kitty!
