Tablescapes, Celebrating the Green!

Welcome to the St. Patrick’s Day Table Setting Blog Hop!

Our hostess this year is Debbee from Debbee’s Buzz,

thank you Debbee!

Whether you’re a friend, a reader

or you’re coming from Design Morsels Welcome!

I’m Celebrating the Green today!

I wish for sunshine and warm temps to come everyone’s way

And I’m thinking about the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day!

The table I’ve set is just for two,

me and you!

The chairs are tied with a festive bright orange sash

The plates hold a shamrock and a pot of gold cash

Shamrocks decorate glasses and hang from above

There’s so much about St. Patrick’s Day you just have to love!

The offset runner is dotted with a small Irish village,

flags, flowers and a hat

Salt and pepper reside in cabbages, imagine that!

There are a few lads and lassies strolling around

Now all we need are bagpipe sounds

May the luck of the Irish be coming your way,

And I wish you a rainbow filled St. Patrick’s Day!

“Irish village”

And here are some favorite St. Patrick’s Day recipe ideas

for your celebration!

Up next is Sarah from Hyacinths for the Soul with a very Lucky table indeed!

Jenna, I love your addition of the Irish flag at your table and nod to it with your accents of orange as well as green and white. I had to chuckle at “Salt and pepper reside in cabbages, imagine that” 😉 Thanks for the rhyming fun this morning. Love the sun highlighting your table. We’re seeing the sunshine here this morning after two very wet and dreary days. . .a welcome sight! ♥♣

  2. What fun! As I was looking at this I thought, Ï need green placemats! It’s very cheerful and fun. I know my Littles would adore that little village, although I doubt it would stay intact very long! It’s a happy table, Jenna. Lovely!

  3. Martha says:

Fun and festive as always Jenna, love it!

  4. A lovely table Jenna. Adding the shamrock and pot of gold to each plate is a wonderful idea. Love the addition of the Irish flag. Such a sweet little village you added. The cabbage salt and pepper shakers are too cute. The shamrock painted glasses are the icing on the cake.🍀 Always a pleasure to see your creative tables Jenna. Happy March.

  5. So cheerful to look at! Love all the little details in your tablescapes!

  6. Rita C. says:

Jenna, what a delight! I love your use of traditional Irish fare in the flags, the village and color scheme of your table. Your whimsical poetry is always a treat, and consistently seems to just roll right off your tongue (does it really come that easily?). I would love to be among the lucky to join you for this table time together, or any other time for that matter. I know I’ll be lucky in food fare too! Best ‘o the season to ya, lass!

  7. Shelia says:

Ah, and a fine table ’tis–especially for me who is descended from Scots Irish folk who came over from Belfast, hit the SC shore and migrated on down to Georgia. I always have my shamrocks out to show my Irish pride–just decorated a bit yesterday. Your beautiful table sent me on a search for Irish quotes–here are a few–wish I were as wise as those in my family who came before me:

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends. (My favorite)
May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live.
May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you are going, and the insight to know when you have gone too far.
A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures.
May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty!
    A friend’s eye is a good mirror.

And “top o’ the morning to you”–Georgia Gal

    • I love the quotes Sheila!! And they are so true! How fun to have Irish relatives and Irish pride! Thanks so much for sharing all this tidbits and Happy St. Patrick’s Day Georgia Gal!

Jenna, you know I’m a fan of your rhyming text. So clever! Love the touch of orange and your centerpiece. It’s cold but sunny here. Jenna, lucky me to have you add your unique table stylings to my first ever hop! Thanks so much for taking part. The Irish village is adorable! And, I think cabbage s/p shaker are perfect too — we always had corned beef and cabbage growing up. Love the layering of your linens and plate stack with the great pop of orange too. Assume you painted those oh-so-cute glasses?

The Irish village is such a nice and unique touch! And, thank you for the wish of sunshine and warm temperatures! Winter always seems to hang on a bit too long up here in Canada!

  24. You’ve set such a festive table, Jenna! I’d love to dine with you! I like how you’ve placed the two table settings on one side so both have a view of your centerpiece. Spring is definitely on your table!

    • Thank you so much Sandra, I sometimes set a table for 4 with the runner offset too, with 2 places on one side and one place at each end. It opens up the table for conversation and gives everything a different and less formal feel. Thanks for noticing 🙂
