Fearless Friday, Tulip Tumblers & Spring Gift Idea

Today’s post incorporates 5 stroke tulips with a Spring gift idea

Earlier this year we painted Fast and Loose watercolor tulips

Today’s acrylic tulips are painted in much the same way

One stroke for the stem, one stroke for a leaf on each side of the stem

Then 2-3 strokes for the tulip

If you load the brush with several colors

you will get an automatic blended effect

Practice on paper until you’re comfortable

and achieve the color result you want

I found these insulated wine tumblers at the grocery store! {Publix}

I decided they would make a perfect addition

to the Easter gift bags I was making for DD and CCOG

Since tulips were sort of the theme of our gathering,

Spring Charcuterie Spread

I painted a single stem on each tumbler

The advantage of painting on a shiny surface like glass or metal

is that you can wipe it off with a damp cloth

before it dries if you don’t like it

The white tulip is painted with white and just a touch of green

The pink tulip was painted pink with a touch of orange and white

The yellow tulip was painted with yellow and orange

I found pretty gift bags in Easter colors and floral soaps and lotions at Hobby Lobby

I tucked the tumblers with the soap and lotion inside the bags

{I kept the pink one for myself}

And when the ladies arrived, and opened their gifts,

they were ready to have a mimosa in their tulip tumbler

Juicy Details:

You can shop for insulated wine tumblers on Amazon here

Note:

I did use acrylic paint for glass on the tumblers but did not cure them in the oven because I had no idea what heat would do to them. I did let the paint dry for 48 hours before use.

These painted tumblers are not dishwasher safe, and do not soak them. To wash give the inside and rim a quick rinse with hot soapy water let dry upside down on a towel

  8. These are such a great idea. Our daughter has 4 plain tumblers which I think she would love a design on them, didn’t know you could do this. Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks Terrie, just make sure she washes them carefully, as I mentioned in the post they are not heat cured, so you shouldn’t soak them or put them in the dishwasher.
