Take-out Tuesday, Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches

School has started in Alabama
and with it comes hectic afternoons and evenings
The slow cooker is invaluable for making
and holding dinner on busy nights
This recipe is family friendly, perfect for days
when everyone coming and going at different times

The tasty tangy sauce is made with pantry ingredients,
ketchup, garlic, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar,
Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt & pepper

Spray or line your slow cooker and then add the sauce ingredients

Mix the sauce right in the pot!

Brown the ground beef

Drain the beef thoroughly and add it to the sauce in the slow cooker

Cook on low for 4 hours

Now all that needs to be done is toast the buns
and dinner is ready!

Place a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on the toasted bun bottom
and top with the hot beef

The hot beef will melt the cheese for a very flavorful sandwich

This recipe is adapted from Center Cut Cook

Jenna, I haven’t thought of this for years and years. When I was you we called them Sloppy Joe’s. Don’t ask me where the Joe came from, the sloppy I understand.
Yes, this is a version of Sloppy Joes, but I didn’t want to call them that because my grandsons said they don’t like Sloppy Joes- so when I told them we were having BBQ Beef sandwiches for dinner, they said great and gobbled them up!
Sounds perfect for busy weeknights Jenna! I need to pull out the slow cooker to keep the kitchen cooler in this heat. Happy Tuesday ♥
So easy, no sweat involved!!
Slow cookers are such a handy thing, but I tend to think of them in the winter when I want to slow simmer a stew. It’s such a good idea for the summer as well because you don’t heat up the house!
I use my slow cooker year round, I love to know that dinner is taken care of!
I there anything better for a good summer meal than a sandwich like that? The slow cooker is a great idea for these hot days!
Thanks Jeanie, slow cookers make dinner so easy, I use mine all the time!
Jenna, when our son was growing up he loved Sloppy Joe’s and I made them weekly. Your recipe brought back a sweet memory. Happy Tuesday!
I love using the crock pot during the fall and winter months Jenna. This sloppy joe recipe looks so good and easy to make. I will have to try it out sometime. I hope you have a nice week Jenna.
Thanks Julie!
Yum! In! The! Tum! Sweet man will love these when I make them!
Thank you Jenna!
Thank you Nancy, a super easy meal for busy days!
This is a sandwich that my husband will be crazy for! That sauce sounds so rich and good.
Thanks Angie, so simple, yet so tasty!
Looks so good! I am pulling recipes together for our trip up north and this will go along too! Thank you Jenna! Also want to try those zucchini baked chips! 😋
This recipe couldn’t be easier and it will be a crowd pleaser. I have made the zucchini chips several times and there are never any left! Thanks Cyndi and have a wonderful time on your trip!
Oh my…yum!! These sound kinda like Sloppy Joe’s, Jenna. I want to make these soon! Thank you, as always.
Thanks Kitty, they are like Sloppy Joes, but with BBQ flavor…so easy to make and very family friendly!
Nice and easy! Kid friendly I’m sure too:@)
Super easy, and the boys loved it!
Oh yum! This would suit us to a T!
Not exactly gourmet, but so good!
Hope the children are doing well in school. Xavier starts kindergarten right after Labor Day. The BBQ Beef sandwiches sure sound tasty, and remind me of Sloppy Joes.
Hi Deb! Thank you, the sandwiches are like Sloppy Joes, but the BBQ sauce really adds great flavor. I can’t believe Xavier is old enough for kindergarten!
This looks and sounds much better than Sloppy Joes. I pinned it! 😀 Thanks, Jenna.
The BBQ sauce really amps up the flavor, so easy and so good!
Hi, Jenna. Way back when I used to do a art/craft show in Evanston, IL. It was one of those combination events, something akin to a street festival and a rock concert. Anyways, I had the pleasure of being next to Sweet Baby Ray—back when he was cooking his sauce at home and selling it in canning jars. He, his wife, and a half a dozen kids/cousins were all there hawking the most fabulous sauces. They served cut hot dogs on toothpicks as tasters. I went home with two jars of sauce, and they went home with a divided pottery dish, they said they would use for tastings. Low and behold…it is the only sauce that comes into our home…a real Chicago success story! Hugs, Sandi.
Wow, I never stopped to think that there could actually be a Sweet Baby Ray! How amazing you met him way back when and that he was able to build his brand and create a fabulous product line sold in stores all over the country!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful story!
I have done this with pork, but this sounds amazing, too.
It is so easy and the BBQ sauce really makes it!
Jenna, thanks for sharing this yummy recipe. I know the guys at my house will love it!
Thanks Shannon, so easy for busy days!
