Fearless Friday, Pink Peonies with Colored Pencil

Isn’t this flower arrangement gorgeous?

Let’s recreate it with colored pencil today

I didn’t do a pencil sketch,

I jumped right in with a fine liner,

drawing the shapes of the flowers and leaves

I began with a few blooms and leaves on the lower right

and worked my way across and up the arrangement

You can download the free printable here

if you want to color along

I used 4 shades of green for the leaves,

yellow green, light green, grass green, and dark green

I used the same greens on the stems

and added gray shadows to the vase with a gray marker

Water was suggested with a light aqua and gray colored pencils

and the small blooms were colored with shades of orange and yellow

The big fat peonies were colored with several shades of pinks and reds

I added some colored shadows to ground the vase

“Pink Peonies” 9″ x 12″ on mixed media paper

I didn’t do almost any art over the holidays

so my New Year’s Resolution is to get back

to daily sketching and painting,

it makes such a big difference in your skill level

Have some coloring fun and

Be Fearless!
