Creations, May Bonnet

A little Dollar Tree fun today,
creating something fun for almost nothing…

I saw this cute little straw hat at the Dollar Tree
and was inspired to dress it up a little

I also grabbed a few faux flower stems
and tied on a mini watering can from my craft stash
I cut individual blooms off the flower bunches
I glued them on the brims equally along each side of the bow

I added some black dots and stripes to the mini watering can…
It looks cute as a door decoration

Or propped on a decorative stand

You can place it with flowers for a colorful centerpiece

And it’s perfect for a Kentucky Derby party
Or for wearing on a bright & sunny day!

CC preferred to wear it without the watering can

Here’s another easy and inexpensive summer craft

Happy crafting!

Thank you Bernadette, CC does light up a room!
I love your bonnet Jenna! So colorful and fun for a centerpiece or a happy welcome and door decor! CC makes an adorable hat model too. ♥
Thank you Mary, CC wore the hat for our Derby party, and loved it so much I gave it to her and she wore it to a wedding brunch the next day!
So cute! CC is a living doll!
Thank you Rita 🙂
So pretty! Perfect to celebrate this wonderful month!
Thank you Dorothy, I did make it to hang on my door, but CC loved it so I let her take it home 🙂
Ah! So sweet!
AWE…how sweet your little CC is in her hat…and how brilliant of an idea. My first thought was of the Derby and how it would work perfectly! I am always looking for door decor and this fits the bill! Happy Thursday my friend.
Thank you Kari, CC did wear it for our Derby party, and she liked it so much I gave it to her and she wore it to another party the next day!
Jenna, this is the cutest hat and a fun craft I can do with my girls. CC is a doll and the perfect hat model! Happy Thursday!
Thanks Pam, this would be so fun to do with your girls!
You made the cutest spring hat Jenna and CC looks so cute wearing it. That looks like a fun spring/summer craft to make.
Thanks Julie! 👒
Darling May hat and so perfect for the Kentucky Derby. CC is the perfect little model to wear the cute hat. It also makes for a lovely centerpiece.
Thanks Linda, it was just her size, and she loves it!
Your dressed up hat is so cute and your model is adorable!
Thanks so much Carol!
That’s a cute hat as-is and even cuter after it gets the Jenna touch! Love it! (And CC!)
Thanks Jeanie, CC absolutely loved it, so I lost my door decor, but it’s so much cuter on her than on my door!
That is just the cutest! I walk my dogs around the subdivision every day and enjoy looking at different door and yard decorations. I have not seen any door decoration as cute as this and I’m sure none of them beat the $5 price. Happy Spring!
Thanks so much Linda! It didn’t last long on my door, when I realized it would be perfect for CC and our Derby party, she wouldn’t part with it!
Making it even more special to you!
Nice and colorful:@)
Thanks Lynn!
This is just too cute!! Thanks for sharing on Crafty Creators!
XOXO,
Niki ~ Life as a LEO Wife
Thanks Niki, CC loves wearing it!
Love this!! These were popular in the 80’s and 90’s and I am thrilled to see this style coming back…I have a few of these hats that look like they are crocheted and I think I will dabble a bit with one, making a garden party hat!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks so much Debbie! I got such a kick out of my granddaughter wearing it and loving it!
