Fearless Friday, Jolly Festive Snowman with Markers

Let’s draw and color a snowman today!
I love snow people,
they always look so jolly and festive
with their scarves, hats and mittens

Last year we painted Simple Snowmen
Today let’s draw and color one with markers
My inspiration is from my snowmen plates

Start with a simple pencil sketch

Then ink over it with a fine liner pen and erase the pencil

Using 2 shades of a color really makes things pop
For his carrot nose I applied a yellow orange across the top
for a highlight

Same thing with the holly with a lime green and a deeper green

Simple black dots for his face

A little shading with a pale gray

And then more shadows with a darker gray
The grays on the brim and the top of the hat
are the highlight areas

Now the black

For the scarf I colored it first with an off white, then added red stripes

I scribbled over the off white stripes with a fine liner pen
to indicate a chunky texture

The hat band was colored with 2 shades of aqua

I added some lines over the highlight areas

And a snow shower with aqua dots!

Very cute!!
Thank you Patti ☃️
I’ve finally started making my Christmas cards (about time) and Snowmen is a theme for some of them. Yours is just darling! I’ve been trying (somewhat unsuccessfully) to bond with my watercolor pens. We shall see!
Watercolor pens can be tricky, they don’t always blend as well as you want them too…have fun with your cards!
He’s so happy and handsome!
Thanks Dorothy, have a great weekend!
You make it look so easy; however, I know it’s not so! The snowman is delightful!
Thank you Mary!
Jenna, the snowman is so cute! Merry Weekend 🎄
Thank you Pam, you too!
Your snowman is adorable! He makes me smile.
Oh good, thank you Linda ☃️
He is so cute, Jenna! 😀 I like his cheeks!
haha, thanks Ricki Jill ☃️
Jenna, your snowman is adorable. I love the pop of turquoise on his hat and his carrot nose is so cute! I bet you had fun with this one. How can you not smile at him?!!
Aw, thanks Kim!
Love seeing the steps to ‘build’ your snowman Jenna! He’s so jolly! Wishing you Happy Sales for December. ♥
Thanks Mary 🙂
I just fearlessly sat here at my desk and tried to draw a holly leaf on the back of an envelope. It’s so embarrassingly bad that I think I will have to SHRED the envelope to ensure that no one ever sees it!!!😁 You’re really good!
Aw, keep trying!! Thanks Alycia, and Merry Christmas!
Your snowman is adorable!! Love how you added dimension with that carrot nose! ☃️
Thank you Jill 🙂
