Fearless Friday, Bunny Ears

Let’s have a little bunny fun today!
This bunny is shy and is hiding behind some pretty flowers

The flowers are just a combination of curved strokes
in various shades of pink and yellow

The strokes get smaller and darker in the center of the flower

Then they get bigger and lighter towards the flowers edges

Once the blooms are established paint the bunny ears
with long light gray or soft brown strokes
I painted one ear with the top flopping down

Once the ears were in place I went back and added leaves

Paint the inside of the ears with light pink

I added a few more sprigs of green to the flowers
and went over the blooms with a large wet brush
to blend out the white areas inside the blooms

I darkened the ears just a little with more gray

When the paint was dry,
I used a .01 fine liner and added little strokes on the ears
to indicate fur for a finishing touch
“Bunny Ears” 8″ x 8″ watercolor and ink on mixed media paper

[…] Watercolor Bunny Ears Tutorial […]
Adorable Jenna! My girls need blooming bunny ear headbands this year, I need to get hopping! 🐇 Happy Friday ❤️
I can’t wait to see their Easter headbands!
You never know where those little bunnies will hide!
ha ha!
Jenna, the bunny ears among the flowers are too cute! I wish the bunnies that live in my garden would pose among the flowers, rather than eating them. Happy Friday 🐰🌸🐇
Thank you Pam, those little bunnies can be big garden pests!
This is just the cutest idea ever! I love the idea (and may even use it on cards to a couple of friends!)
Thanks Jeanie, yes it’s perfect for cards! Have fun!
Getting out my paints this weekend. You’ve officially inspired me (again!).
Oh good! Happy painting Leslie Anne!
So cute AND you don’t even have to draw the face. Lots of us are intimidated by faces–even bunny faces.😂
Yes! Thanks Linda, Happy weekend!
So cute Jenna! I just had my paints out (painted a rock from the lake), and I would love to try this. Happy weekend!
Happy Painting Deb!!
You’re so talented! Looks amazing!
Thank you Niki!
Oh my goodness Jenna. This is adorable! I love the fur on the bunny ears – so cute. Happy Monday to you!
Thanks so much, bunnies are irresistible aren’t they 🙂
Charming bunny art!
Thanks Mary!
I’m getting an error when I comment… not sure what that means… but I’ll try again. I love your bunny watercolor! Thanks for sharing on Tuesday Turn About! You’ll be one of my features at today’s party! Pinned!
Thank you so much Julie, I am thrilled!
