Boats, Floats & Fish!

It’s time for the Summer Tablescape Hop!
A big thanks to our organized hostess Rita from Panoply

Welcome friends, readers and visitors from Debbee’s Buzz
and her fabulous Alfresco Bee Theme Table and Florals

My Summer table is an ode to my fishermen
and it’s all about boats, floats and fish!
Summer for my family means lots of days at the beach house
relaxing, swimming and a lot of fishing!
Meals are enjoyed outside
and I love to keep something pretty on the table
This centerpiece features 2 boats on a blue and green tile “sea”
The boats are filled with glass fishing floats,
blue bottles and a decorative blue ball

2 different blue place mats were used
to further reference water, and that’s not all…

Whimsical fish plates are set at each place

When it’s seating for six, there is plenty of space

Blue and green goblets continue the theme

As do the napkins of blue and aquamarine

Let’s let’s add some flags and some red white and blue,
are you wondering why?

Tomorrow is Flag Day and then soon it will be the 4th of July!

We can enjoy this centerpiece all summer long

I can remove the flags if the breeze gets too strong

I’m loving the addition of red, white, & blue

Oh and there are fish painted on the wine glasses too!

I’m keeping it simple and casual today

No fussy plate stacks to get in the way

A table to enjoy and linger watching the real boat display

It’s so nice to dine outside and enjoy the beautiful day!

Jenna, your tables capes are a feast for the eyes.
Thank you Bernadette!
So breezy for a casual summer meal. Your fish painted glasses are cute. The whole table is inviting, and nice that a few flags added take it in a patriotic direction for Flag Day and July 4.
Thank you Carol, we love to eat at this table!
Such a beautiful and happy spot!
It truly is, thank you Dorothy!
Jenna, I could sit for days on your fabulous porch and enjoy the view! I love the photo of the guys and their catch. I know you all enjoy fresh fish all summer, that would certainly suit me. Eating alfresco at the beach would be amazing especially with your centerpiece and the whimsical fish plates. Adding the red, white, and blue for upcoming holidays was a perfect idea. I like that you kept the centerpiece low to the table so as not to interfere with the view. It is always a pleasure to visit one of your beach tables! Happy Tuesday 🩵
Thank you Pam~ I pretty much live on the porch when I’m at the beach house, it’s a great spot to watch all the action in the pool on the pier and on the water with all the boats going by!
Your table floats my boat Jenna! What a perfect theme for your beach bungalow in honor of your fishermen! Love the colorful school of fish on the glassware and plates. Love the circles, aka, watery bubbles, on your flatware too! The addition of the flags is a perfect salute to the red, white and blue in honor of Flag Day tomorrow! As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table. Happy Tuesday! 🚤🏝️🐟💙
Thank you Mary, the guys are all about fishing and we all love to hang out at this table in the evenings and relax over dinner and hear their fish stories 😂
I love these colors and your tribute to both the productive pastime at the beach house, as well as our Old Glory celebration! Those stems in the blue and green have me wanting to scout something similar (do you remember your source?). The tiles on the table are a great way to blend sea to land, with the boat and floats anchored in center. The painted glasses are adorable, and are a perfect pairing to the plates. Casual and chic, Jenna, thanks for sharing your great catch of a table!
Thank you Rita, I think I got the blue and green stemmed glasses at Antropologie years ago…I didn’t source anything on the table because it’s all things I’ve had for a long time. The centerpiece will probably stay on the table all summer {without the flags which can blow away} because it’s pretty weatherproof. Thanks again for another wonderful hop!
Your tables are such full of summer fun, Jenna. Why, you don’t even need to eat to have a wonderful time at that table!
Thank you Jeanie, we love to hang out at this table and relax at the end of the day~
Summer Fun with fabulous coastal fish design! I love your painted dishes and wine glasses!
How nice it is to sit at your table! The gulf breezes and salty air are perfect for today’s lunch of fresh fish at your lovely table!
Enjoy your day dear friend!
Thank you Nancy, this table has seen many good times!
Jenna, your table is so fun and whimsical. Love those fish plates and your painted fish goblets. How fun to have those talented fishermen in your family. Great catch and I am sure delicious cooked up. The blue and green stems are lovely. I always enjoy the color aquamarine. Adding the red, white & blue is perfect. Boats and floats is the perfect nod to summer. Always fun to hop along with you. Happy summer.
Thank you Linda, the guys love love to fish so I like to decorate with boats and I have several different sets of fish plates that we use when we’re here… Summer is in full swing!
Such a fabulous spot you have for your outdoor dining! I’d love to sit there enjoying the view and your great tablescape. I love the painted fish glasses and the plates too! Thanks for sharing all the fun!
Thank you Barbara, we love to sit and linger over dinner at this table~it’s a great spot to watch boats go by
Look at that catch! I grew up eating fresh fish bought on the piers in Corpus. Fresh shrimp was my favorite, and still is! Loving all the shades of blue at your table, and adding in the flags for tomorrow’s Flag Day celebration. Needless to say, my patriotic loving heart has been busy adding touches of red, white, and blue around the house. Plan to bring out my collection of Uncle Sam folk art figures this evening. It will be like a reunion with old friends.
Happy Beach Summer, Jenna!
Thank you Sarah! The guys are crazy about fishing, they fish night and day 😂 I just sit back and watch the action from the porch! Have fun with your Uncle Sam folk art figures~
Jenna, you landed “the big fish” with your fun, festive and whimsical table and centerpiece! What a catch lol! Love the layering of different nautical, fishing elements and flags you used to style that wonderful centerpiece. It compliments the cute fish plates, two-color stems, and linens in the summer tablescape. And, of course, your porch and family’s catch make it the perfect setting for a wonderful gathering.
Thank you Debbee, we love to relax at this table at the end of the day, and it’s fun to set it with fishing things the guys love so much!
Jenna your table setting would not be complete without a line or two of prose. Thank you for that. I don’t know how you had time to get it all done in only one day. My poetry takes a little longer. (comment on my day early post) 😁
Your catch of fish is certainly bountiful and I am sure HRJR will do the “cleaning” of the catch. My dad used to catch catfish and us girls did the cleaning and filleting. 😒. but we all loved the catfish fry afterwards. 😊
Your table is so nautical and I like the boat centerpiece. I’m glad you incorporated the flags with the centerpiece…since flag day is tomorrow.
Blessings my dear friend and Have a great summer.
Thank you Kari! Yes, HHjr cleans the fish, he has a table on the pier that he uses and brings in the fish filets in a ziplock bag, I don’t even have to touch them!
Jenna, you chose the perfect theme for your charming seaside table and I really love that you included the photo of your handsome family of fishermen! Happy Summer! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Thank you Cecilia, they are crazy over fishing!
Jenna, I love your boats, floats, and fish tablescape – it is the perfect tribute to your family of fisherman and what a great picture that is! The blue, green, and aquamarine color palette is so pretty and the fish plates are adorable. Love the fish wine glasses too. Your view is gorgeous – I could sit there for hours just watching the boats. How great that you added the flags to celebrate your National Flag day and your prose always brings a smile. I hope you and your family have a wonderful summer there in paradise!
Thanks so much Kim! The guys{all ages!} are avid fishermen and fish day and night! It was fun to set a table with their favorite pastime theme 🎣 I will probably leave the boat centerpiece all summer long as it’s very weather proof. You will find me on the porch all day whenever we’re down there, it is always cool, and a great spot to read, draw & paint, and watch the action!
Jenna, I love your pretty outdoor dining space overlooking the Old River. The boat centerpiece is so AH-dorable, and the glass fishing floats and flags are perfect to display in them. I even love the sea of blue and green tiles! So cute. Every element on the table is colorful like Ono Island! The fish plates are very cute. I like them, too. Happy Summer, Sweet Friend!
Thanks so much RJ, this table is where we all love to sit and linger over dinner. Yes Summer has arrived in the South!
Jenna – the fish goblets are spot on with the rest of your festive theme! I love your creativeness!
Thank you Mary!
this is so beautiful and fun. I’ve been gone to Birmingham and am back home now – can’t wait to get down to the sand and surf! you make it look refreshing!
We seem to always be in opposite places! Happy Summer Leslie Anne!
Such a fun way to enjoy food, family, and the water!
Thanks Linda!
I always enjoy your festive table settings and, of course, the setting for your home. It’s a dream come true.
Thank you Ann, it is a dreamy spot!
Jenna, Your boats, floats and fish table is adorable. I feel relaxed and can visualize sitting right there with your wonderful view of the water and boat activity. Those fish are impressive! I just showed it to my husband who is always interested in fishing and cooking and eating fish.
Your cute plates and matching hand painted wine glasses are so much fun. Adding the flags to your boats was a darling idea for the patriotic holidays.
I always enjoy your creative rhyming talent.
I’m sorry I am late. I had an out of town medical appointment yesterday.
Thanks so much Bonnie! Yes the guys love to fish, that’s all they can think about! I had fun setting a table with boats and fish in their honor and will probably leave the centerpiece on the table all summer. Happy Flag Day and on to the 4th of July!
I’m really loving this post…of course BLUES are my favorite and what I use in the summertime, everywhere! Hugs, Sandi
Thanks so much Sandi! Enjoy your Summer!
Jenna, a fun, fanciful table that captures the spirit of summer days! The plate designs are so cute as are the wineglasses you’ve painted featuring similar fish. All the blues come together so well and mimic the wonderful view of your dock. I particularly like how you’ve styled the centerpiece. I would definitely enjoy relaxing here all summer! Have a wonderful one!
Thanks so much Sandra!
Jenna, Oh my gosh…all of those wonderful fish your men folk had caught. My husband would be in heaven. We need to move where he can catch that many fish. I would love to know how you prepare them all. Anyway, your celebration of fish tablescape is so fun and certainly captures the joy of a successful fishing trip. I love your mix of colors and patterns and your beautiful fish plates are a perfect match to the fish stemware. Adding the flags were a great idea. The tablescape can be used all summer long. So bring on the fishing trips and all the fresh fish. Both the lovely tablescape and the tasty fish can be enjoyed!!!
Thanks so much Marsha! The guys love love to fish! We usually just grill the fish and sometimes we make blackened fish or fish tacos. Yes, I’ll probably keep the boat centerpiece on the table all summer. Thanks for all you kind words and I hope. you’re having a wonderful summer!
Hi Jenna, Come to think of it….I never tried a fish taco. Sounds delicious. Always looking for new recipes. My husband is always on the hunt for retired guys that would fish with him. Enjoy your beautiful setting and see you at the next hop.
Seaside simplicity at its’ finest! Your centrepiece is so fun! I especially love your dinner plates! I had to take a second look at the centre, as it really looks like a big white flower in the middle, but alas, it is the fishies heads!
Thanks so much Maureen! The center of the plates does look like a flower, haha! Have a great summer!
