Fearless Friday, Valentine Hearts & Flowers

Nothing is more special than receiving a hand painted card or gift

I’ve gathered some ideas to inspire you to make your own,

with no artistic skills are required!

Hearts are pretty basic, 2 strokes and they’re done!

You can also make a heart

with a series of long and short horizontal strokes

Hearts don’t need to be perfect either,

just look how cute these hearts are by Colleen Sgroi

You can also embrace or disguise any wonky shaped ones

by adding squiggly lines and shapes

You can also turn hearts into flowers!

Or make a flower heart

The roses are formed with a series of curved strokes

in various sizes

Use different shades of pink and red and add leaves if you want

You can outline the shapes and add stems with paint or with pens

You can make a flower with a swirl inside a circle

or with 3 or 4 strokes placed together

I painted flowers on MacKenzie-Childs knock-off glasses

with 3 red strokes and 2 green strokes

rose glasses

How about a Valentine candy dish or wine glasses

Paint a clear glass ornament for a Valentine tree

Just simple hearts and dots!

I hope you have some fun with hearts and flowers!

  6. This reminds me it is time to make my Valentine for Rick! I don’t think I’ll get a poetry book written this year (and frankly, this past year wasn’t much to write about!) But a good valentine is absolutely essential. I love all that you shared here!

As a child, I was so proud of myself when I found I could draw hearts. It’s still a standby for me, but nothing like what you create. This post is so fun!
