Fearless Friday, Beach Bag
I’ve been relaxing at the beach this week with my family,
so being in a coastal mood,
when I saw this cute Straw Bag Illustration on Pinterest
I wanted to paint it
Wednesday I planned to paint with watercolor outside on the porch
but Mother Nature had other plans and it rained
So I decided to paint inside
and see if I could paint the beach bag with markers
I started with a pencil sketch
Once the sketch was finished I began to add color
I used short diagonal lines to indicate the straw woven bag
Adding darks
Sunglasses
Outlining with a .01 fine liner pen
Texture on the handle
Lines for texture on the straw bag
Color on the cup
Adding background…
“Beach Bag” 8″ x 8″ ink and markers on mixed media paper
Markers were not ideal for this but it was a fun challenge!

I know when people are at the beach they want sunny weather for outdoor activities, but I would think that the contrast on a rainy day is also nice. Do you enjoy that? Happy 4th of July!
We actually did, the kids think it’s great fun to swim in the pool when it’s raining!
