Take-out Tuesday, Fall Coleslaw
Coleslaw is a year round favorite side dish
that you can turn into a special Fall salad
by adding apples and cranberries

It also has walnuts for a delicious crunch factor
and another layer of flavor

It is tossed with a bleu cheese dressing
which is a nice contrast to the sweet apples and cranberries
If you’re not a fan of bleu cheese
Maple Mustard dressing is also great with this salad,
the maple adding even more Fall flavor
Both dressing recipes are included
in the printable recipe at the end of this post

This salad is easy to put together with Coleslaw Mix
First put the desired amount of coleslaw in a large salad bowl

Add dressing of choice

Toss to combine dressing evenly with coleslaw mix

Dice the apple and put it on top of the dressed coleslaw
along with walnuts and cranberries

At this point cover salad and refrigerate it until serving time
When ready to serve, toss salad again
to incorporate the apples, cranberries and walnuts

This recipe is adapted from Lemon Tree Dwelling

The addition add another dimension to the Cole slaw as well as giving it more eye appeal.
Thank you Bernadette!
I also like to add apples to coleslaw, especially in September when our apple orchards are heavy with harvest.
Thank you, we really enjoyed this Fall version~
Apples, cranberries and walnuts? Oh my! That sounds so good and so easy. (Go whole hog (no pun intended) and add a little bacon, too!)
Yes, bacon would be delicious!

I don’t know why, but I didn’t like coleslaw until I was an adult. This version looks like it would have won me over as a picky teenager. Where have you been all my life?
I don’t really like coleslaw either, but I love this!
Such an attractive salad, and probably a good accompaniment to everything.
Thanks Linda!
Sounds so tasty Jenna! We love apple in coleslaw! I hope you beach house stays safe and out of harm’s way with Helene heading through the gulf. She looks like she’s going to pack a wallop! ♥

This looks SO good, Jenna! I eat plain coleslaw, but it seems a little…meh. This one looks amazing!
Oops, that was me, Pam, Jenna. I messed up and sent it as Anonymous!
Thanks for letting me know!
