Creations, Recipe for Easy Gift Wrapping

This post is all about gift wrapping, but first I want to mention another kind of “wrapping,” this slip covered chair in my studio
This chair was featured yesterday on The Dedicated House, Before and After Wednesday

Now on to the gift wrapping!
I often wrap gifts for my JMdesigns {hand painted glassware} customers and have learned to streamline the process as well as make it super affordable.
My favorite method is stamped bags and tags~these are some of my favorite stamps, birthday cake, palm trees, heart, baby shoes, kiss, wedding cake, it’s a girl thing, and cupcake.
I have found with just a few stamp designs and these three colors I can cover all the bases from brides to babies. I have a couple of Christmas stamps too. I never pay full price for these, just look for them on sale at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s often has bins of them for $1 each near checkout. You can always pull up coupons on your phone too if you leave home without one.
With white bags you can wrap just about anything for any occasion. Add a stamp and a colored tissue sheet and your gift is wrapped!
Let your bags dry after stamping to prevent smears
These bags were for a bridesmaids luncheon
I printed out the girls names on card stock and cut them into tags and punched a hole on one end
I used this heart garland to attach the tags to the bags, it’s wired so it will curl and bend
just a piece of scotch tape inside the upper edge of the bag
Wrap the gift in several pieces of white tissue and use 1 sheet of accent color or print tissue over the white
Here’s a peak of the gifts inside…
The bridesmaid’s dresses are blue so I found a tissue in their dress color. The other wedding color that will be used is green so I printed the stamp and names in green.
Hobby Lobby has a great selection of bags and tissue, very reasonably priced. These bags were 10 for $1.99. The blue tissue was the same price. I buy white tissue in reams and keep it on hand, but you can also buy big packs at Costco for $5 in late fall which is a good time to stock up. I keep all sizes of white bags on hand for fast wrapping any time.
You can also cut the accent wrap in half to make it go further. Use the white tissue for bulk and add the accent pieces for color. These bags were tied with a short piece, about 12″ of ruffled ribbon, so I was able to get 3 ties per yard.

Here’s the recipe for an easy gift wrap:
1 white bag
1 rubber stamp and pad
1 sheet of card stock or heavy paper for tag
hole punch
ribbon
2 sheets of white tissue
1 piece colored or printed tissue
Wrap item in white tissue. Tuck accent tissue loosely around item and carefully tuck into bag being careful not to wrinkle tissue and making sure the accent tissue is visible. Make tag with card stock and rubber stamp. Punch hole in tag and use ribbon to attach tag to bag.
Makes 1 gift!
Unexpected gifts are the most appreciated, wrap up something today for someone special, just for fun!

COOL, Jenna!!! I have tons of stamps and paints and one of those embossing guns, but I haven’t used them in a long time. This gets me revved up to work with them again!
Those glasses are so cute!!! GREAT job on those! The ladies will enjoy the unique, creative, and highly personalized gift!!!
Thanks Alycia, what is an embossing gun? Do I need one of those? Ha, just what I need is another thing to play with!!
Today’s post is my favorite 😊xoxo
Ha! Thanks, Carol~I hope you don’t mind that I shared your bridesmaids gifts! Thank you so much!
Jenna
I love this Jenna! Not only is the gift wrapping beautiful, but it has a much more personal touch! 🙂

Your gift wrap is beautiful, creative, personalized and thrifty too Jenna! I was so enamored of your baby shower bags and tags! Cute glasses too 🙂
I really enjoyed this post. I have hundreds of rubber stamps and enjoy using them in this same way. It was fun to see the stamps that you chose. I like them all, but the cupcake in particular. Lately I’ve been collecting food-related stamps to use to rubber stamp tags and labels to use when I give things away. Fun!
hi Pattie, what a great idea to make tags with food stamps for gifts! Love that, might have to borrow~:)
Jenna
Love it!! Ingenious!
