Take-out Tuesday, Slow Cooker Rodeo & Summer Meal Ideas

I am about to cry “UNCLE” to Mother Nature
Enough of this heat already!!
To help keep my mind off the sizzling summer temps, besides having a lot of watermelon, I started thinking about fall recipes and the slow cooker…
I created a Pinterest board so I have a quick visual record of my own recipes and recipes I want to try
You can see it here and follow along if you like. I will be adding more recipes and ideas all the time…
We enjoyed Spicy Pot Roast Taquitos over the weekend with some cool 5 Minute Guacamole
Here are some of my other favorites that are enjoyable even on these hot summer days~
Slow Cooker Short Rib Tacos with Asian Slaw~ I am making these next week, a great week night meal, and you can make extra for putting together for grab and go lunch later in the week
If it’s too hot to grill, try these “no sweat” Island Time Chicken Wings
Bacon Jam is great on a BLT full of ripe summer tomatoes
Bacon Jam is also a great condiment for a Hot Dog Bar
And don’t forget about Cantaloupe Jam!
I have been organizing and cleaning up all my Pinterest boards
Pinterest is such a brilliant way to visually store ideas for easy reference. I have “Best of the Painted Apron” boards as well as boards for everything else…Click here if you would like to visually browse my recipes, tablescapes, creations, painting tutorials, and featured posts
Your slow cooker won’t heat up your kitchen so put that little magic pot to work!
Psst~ you can enjoy Watermelon on the Rocks here or make a Watermelon Pie here

I will be sharing with the fabulous parties and blogs on my side bar
I’m sick of 90+ temperatures too Jenna. We desperately need rain too. I’m trying not to turn on the oven anymore than necessary and I don’t use my slow cooker nearly enough! Thanks for the link to your slow cooker board 🙂
I’m right there with you with these outrageous temperatures! Stove? What’s a stove? Haven’t looked at one in months. It’s just too hot to cook, but your crock pot recipes look yummy. Off to visit your pinterest boards. 🙂

I adore my slow cooker for these hot summer days! Put delicious stuff in, leave it for 8 hours, delicious stuff comes out! And it doesn’t heat up your kitchen 🙂 Following your pinterest board!
I agree, thanks!!
I’ll bet the bacon jam is great on a BLT:@) We’re in the soup here in Philly too… ugh.
I am so with you on the hot, HUMID weather …over it! LOL! Thanks for sharing the tasty looking food with us! Would love to try the bacon jam! 🙂 ~Rhonda
I with everyone else a Texas 102 outside is to hot to cook. I made a big mistake of baking bread pudding yesterday thought my house would never cool down. All your favorites look delicious. Need to try some of them.
Cathy <;)
Thanks Cathy~ yes, we are facing triple digits this weekend in Alabama too, ugh!!! >
Such great ideas here! And Cantaloupe Jam? I’ll have to try that – my hubby would love it! Thanks so much for taking the time to link up with us over at the #HomeMattersParty – we hope to see you again next week!
Thank you for the party Kristen! >
