Holidays, Pumpkin Turkey and things to do in November

Well, the absolutely first thing to do in November, especially since you have an extra whole hour, is to make a pumpkin turkey!
This turkey was inspired by the talented Mary at Home is Where the Boat is…when I saw her owl pumpkin creations, I couldn’t stand it they are so cute!!!
There aren’t many any pinecones to forage around here, but I did have some gold magnolia leaves and feathers I used for a coastal Thanksgiving last year
And pumpkins by the front door…
Leaves from Autumn Leaves and a Pumpkin Chandy Wreath
I rounded up what was on hand, and started “building” my turkey
Package tape made quick work of attaching the leave stems and feathers
This turkey is for front viewing only 😁
“Honey, can you tell what this is?”
“A pumpkin with a headdress?”
Back to the drawing board…
“How about now, with conch shell eyes and a wattle?”
Leaf “feathers” for his broad breast and pipe cleaner legs & feet
“Oh, now I get it! That’s really something…” ha! I wonder what that means 😳
Sigh, he’s very tolerant!
It’s not easy be married to a crazy artist…

[…] Turkey Pumpkin for the side board or buffet table is unexpected […]
Jenna, Your turkey pumpkin is adorable with his gold leaf and feather fantail and conch shell eyes! I bet your grands will get a kick out of it at their Thanksgiving table! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is a little over two weeks away, I feel like fall just arrived with our hot weather 🙂
Adorable you creative genius!!!
Both yours and Mary’s are adorable!
Thanks Rita!
These are really cute and great fun!
Oh my goodness the turkey you made is adorable! I also love your porch setting and the painted picture and glasses. You are one talented person. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks Valerie, the turkey pumpkin cracks me up every time I see him!
Very cute, Jenna!
Jenna, I was amazed by Mary’s pumpkins and your tur-pump-key is adorable too! Both of you are so creative and entertaining. I am familiar with the hubby-speak. I am now training mine to be careful of his comments. But I am sure your hubby loves and appreciates all the things you create and serve! Linda
Oh clever Linda, I wish I had thought to call him a tur-pump-key!! As for the hubby speak, he is quite the diplomat 🙂
What fun! The turkey and the glasses are so cute. Such a happy post.
Ha, ha, my best view may not be from the back either:@) Cute!
What a happy welcome your turkey makes at the front door!! For some reason he just puts a smile on my face. Bravo, Jenna, for another great idea!! Rosie
That’s so cute, Jenna. The things men say sometimes need to be published in a book! 🙂
I love the pumpkin turkey, absolutely adorable!

Mr. TurPumpkey is very cute and you are very talented. I love that he is for front viewing only. Sometimes the back of my creations hide a multitude of oopsies! Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story, have a great weekend.
Thank you Sandra, we are enjoying Mr. TurPumkey, and I only wish I was clever enough to come up with that name myself! >
