Creations, Birthday Bottles

I am just crazy about this Birthday tissue paper, and bought it one day with no particular plan in mind…I also bought some other bright and happy prints and stashed them away for a future project
I also save interesting bottles, like this opaque black 19 Crimes Chardonnay…the label caught my attention and I actually do like this bold “hard chard” from Australia…
There is an interesting story about the label that you can read here
Also, there is a whole line of Australian 19 Crimes wines named after British criminals who were transported to Australia for their crimes…many fascinating stories you can read here. There is even a App you can put on your phone that will show you the story behind each label and crime when you scan the label. How cool is that??? Read more here
Thank you Jeanie, the Marmalade Gypsy for sharing your wine knowledge!
I have decoupaged several of these square whiskey bottles too, so I decided to make “Birthday” bud vases for 2 of my BFFs for their March birthdays
It was kind of a hot mess when first applied, but once it dries it settles down
I painted some mock birthday candles on the wine bottle neck and painted the glass swirls on the whiskey bottle neck
I also added some thin colored baker’s twine for a finishing touch
Bright flowers and a cupcake stamped tag
And a Birthday Cake white chocolate bar {Trader Joe’s}
Just a silly simple gift…
And they both loved their Birthday Bottles!!

What a sweet idea for your BFF’s! Did I ever tell you that Joe makes me memory bottles 🙂 I think I am up to 10.
oh goodness, how sweeeeeeeeet!!
These look absolutely gorgeous! What a lovely and creative idea thank you 🙂
thank you!
Jenna, a handmade gift is the best! The bottles are so cute and I know your friends loved them. Not only are they cute and fun, they are one-of-a-kind!
haha, my friends are pretty used to receiving weird stuff from me, they are very tolerant!!
Jenna, I buy the wine for the label too. I’m sure this woman never dreamed she would inspire a wine label 150 years later! I always love your bottles and these must have made your friends very happy! Linda
I love that you read her story, Linda, can you imagine how terrifying that must have been for her! My friends are very sweet, they always at like they love all the weird stuff I give them!
That’s a fun idea — really cheerful. Wouldn’t it make a great birthday party centerpiece? I’ll have to remember that one. One of my friends collects (and got) all the 19 Crimes corks. And they have a wild app that if you put your phone by it in the store (or something — the store guy showed me) the person on the front “talks” and tells you about their crime!
really??? That is so cool!! I must check it out!! Yes, these bottles would make a cute centerpiece!
Jeanie, I just got the app and can’t wait to try it! I put your info into the post and linked to you, thanks so much for sharing that fun and fascinating fact!
Oh how fun!!! Love them.
It’s a fun no rules craft!
What a cute idea! So colorful too. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thanks Cindy!
What a great idea to brighten up the birthday table. Thanks for the idea
Yes, a fun, no stress project!
Love the 19 Crimes bottles. Watched the little clip on their site. I don’t drink but I have bought a couple wine bottles I liked and used it in cooking.
Thanks Sandra, I found the stories behind these labels fascinating!
What a fun idea – and a perfect way to deliver flowers!! AND white choc bars at Trader Joes? I am going there tomorrow – I LOVE white choc!!
Thanks Patti, the girls loved them!
These are so cute I just had to pin them! This would be fun to do for adults or kids. 🙂
It is fun Stacey, and anyone can do this!
Adorable tissue and bottle upcycling! Wine marketing has come a long way 🙂
I love this idea and it works for so many occasions. Thank you for sharing with us at Celebrate Your Story and have a great weekend.
