Creations, Floral Ice Cream Cone

Welcome to the March edition of the monthly Creative Craft Hop

hosted by Andrea from Design Morsels

Welcome readers, friends, and visitors from Chas Crazy Creations!

Chas shared a very cute and easy bunny craft and

today I’m going to share an easy craft too…

an ice cream cone made with faux flowers

You can hang it on a door for a happy Spring or Summer welcome

You can add a ribbon or place in a vase for a centerpiece

I actually was able to use things I already had~

A grapevine tree that was perfect for the cone,

a bouquet of purple peonies, a large white hydrangea bloom

a smaller pink bloom, and a dark red mum

For the bottom “scoop,”

I placed the peony bouquet into the cone first

and spread the flowers evenly around the rim,

bending the wire stems as needed to keep them in place

The second “scoop” is the fluffy white hydrangea bloom

which sits on top of the spread peonies

The 3rd “scoop” is a bright pink bloom, slightly smaller than the hydrangea

Now all it needs is a cherry on top!

The scoops stay in place by the stems sticking into the flowers below

For outdoor use, you will need to use floral wire

or glue to keep them secure in the elements

My front door does not have an overhang or roof protection

so I have to use sturdy and weatherproof decorations out there

This ice cream cone is for inside the front door

It can easily be deconstructed at any time and the components used again

This ice cream cone makes a fun centerpiece for a tablescape,

a birthday party or a dessert buffet

Jenna, A triple scoop of creativity with a cherry on top! I would have never thought of creating a floral ice cream cone. I love that it can be disassembled and the floral elements and cone reworked for a future floral project, wreath or craft. ♥

Jenna, This is as cute as can be, and so creative! I never would have thought about turning a grapevine Christmas tree upside down! Before I read that part, I was wondering where you got a grapevine ‘cone’. I love how you styled the table with all of your cute ‘ice cream cones’ and ‘cupcakes’! So adorable!

  5. Martha says:

It’s beautiful and such a fun idea Jenna!

  6. Jenna, this is so creative and I wouldn’t have thought of turning the Christmas tree upside down. This is cute for a door or your table! Stay safe during this severe weather day, schools are closed here!

  7. This is so charming, and it makes me think . . . where is my door “cone?” I know I had one of these, but where it is now, who knows? I’m pretty sure that Ellie Jo at the Christmas Dance took mine. Of all the nerve! Time to get another so I can have ice cream on my door like you! Thanks for the reminder not to loan Ellie Jo anything.

  8. Kari says:

You are so clever Jenna. A lady of many talents for sure. I love your ice cream cone and as usual, you make it look so easy. I like putting “wreaths” on an inside door or mirror. Your table is adorable.
    Hugs

How cute is that and I love how easy it is. Your colors are fantastic and I appreciate anything that can be kept up all season long and this one can be up for spring and summer! Thanks for sharing and wonderful crafting with you friend.

I love this craft idea Jenna. I will have to look through my stash for a cone. I don’t remember one but may have something I can use. I really like how you use it for a centerpiece in the vase and the front door welcome. Wonderful idea………

I love this! It reminds me of a real one my kids made at a flower kids’ workshop with real carnations.– they put it in a red solo cup and added a straw and a spoon…. Yours is so cheerful looking! I’ve pinned it.

  21. lghiggins says:

    Gorgeous!

  22. Cyndi Raines says:

How smart are you! I thought it was a special grapevine vase, never dreaming it was just turned upside down, haha, dah! You truly tthink”out of the box” creative thoughts! Also, I am impressed that you had all those pretty flowers, just the right size and colors on hand! AND that they can easily be used again for another creative project! Win, win, win! Pinning! Thanks Jenna!
