Here’s what I made from the August Paint Bucket
the flavor/theme of the month was Keeping Cool
Zucchini & Pimiento Cheese Strata from the Painted Apron archives
is one of my favorite recipes
it’s sort of like pizza meets quiche
Vegetable Sushi and
Stuffed Napa Cabbage Leaves with Peanut Sauce
from Dorothy’s Vintage Kitchen were on the bucket list last month
and they reminded me of another favorite from the archives,
Spring Roll Wraps with Sweet Chili Peanut Paste
I simplified Healthy Baked Cheesy Zucchini Bites
from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe
Instead of grating zucchini,
I cut it into thin slices
and baked it topped with seasonings and Parmesan
You can serve these as an appetizer or a side dish
Golden Zucchini Chips with Garlic and Parmesan
BLT Tortellini Salad with Pinot Grigio Dressing
from the Painted Apron archives is a great summer side or meal
I still want to make Browned Garlic Butter Creamed Corn Cheese Ravioli
from Half Baked Harvest
but since I had asparagus ravioli in my freezer
it inspired me to make a veggie filled ravioli bake
This is so good, I will be making it again soon!
Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches were not on my bucket list,
but they’re perfect for busy back to school nights
Peanut Butter Cup Cookie Bars from the Gunny Sack inspired
Cake Mix Peanut Butter Cups Cookie Bars
No Churn Key Lime Pie Ice Cream from Southern Living
was the inspiration for this
5 minute Key Lime Ice Cream Pie

It was truly a very delicious August! I really have to make that beef sandwich….saucy, tender and absolutely divine!
Thank you Angie, the beef recipe is far below your culinary skills, but it sure is tasty!
Happy Thursday, Jenna. I am excited about football season…Roll Tide! Finger foods are always a treat and I look forward to see what you will be making. Apple nachos sound interesting.
I still plan on making the peanut butter cup cookies bars. Wish I had one now!
Thanks Pam, Roll Tide and have a great Labor Day weekend!
Jenna, this is an extravaganza of delicious snacks but I hope you have some energy left to watch the game after whipping all those tasty dishes.
haha, thanks Bernadette!
I’ll be glued to the television Sunday evening when FSU plays Norte Dame. Who knows, I might be snacking on one of your treats!
Good luck to your team, thanks Linda!
I love appetizers! A perfect meal is easily made with a few special bites like yours!
Me too, my favorite way to dine! Thanks Dorothy!
This post is making me way too hungry! I love appetizers — I’d be happy with them for my meal full time!
Me too! Thanks Jeanie!
Chicken pot pie biscuits sound good to me! Bring on football:@)
I definitely want to make those biscuits, they sound amazing!
Wow, you did have a delicious month! 😀 The key lime pie looks very refreshing. I need to try to make that.
Thanks RJ!
I am not a football fan, but I love reading about all the different foods people are making for the football season–especially snacky appetizers. These sound great!
The food is the best part of football season!
