St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Lantern

Welcome to the monthly Creative Craft Hop!

A big Thank You to Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting ๐
I love all the early Spring holidays~
My son was born on Valentine’s Day
and my granddaughter’s birthday is St. Patrick’s Day
I have decorated a lantern for Valentine’s Day
It’s time to decorate it for St. Patrick’s Day!
I lined the bottom with paper cocktail napkins
Then I decided to use a painted leprechaun vase,
it was the perfect size

I filled it with a few faux forsythia branches
and perched a green velvet leprechaun hat on top
A lucky napkin was placed in front of the vase
with a pot of gold and a mini treat bag
Another pot of gold and some gold coins…
you can’t ever have too much gold โ๏ธ
Irish flags are stuck in the top
Shamrocks, and a shamrock garland decorate the top
and a large lucky shamrock hangs on the door hook

May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Jenna, Your St. Paddy’s Day lantern is super cute and oh so festive! I know your leprechaun is happy to be locked safely inside with a stash of gold. ๐
haha, thank you Mary โ๏ธ !
Leave it to you to come up with something so fun and creative Jenna! My favourite colour is green but you’re right that one can never have too much gold :).
โ๏ธ Thank you Sara! and thank you for hosting!
How fun is that lantern? I love St. Patrick’s day too. I was just getting my SPD decor out yesterday. This gives me a ton of inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you Tammy, have fun decorating!
You never know where a little leprechaun might be lurking!
hee hee, thanks Dorothy!

Thank you Cecilia โ๏ธ
That’s really cute, Jenna. Love seeing the forsythia in it!
Thanks Jeanie โ๏ธ
What a great idea! I use to decorate for little holiday like these. But as I get older (Iโm 75) Iโm trying to simplify. This is so helpful to confine it to the area we our in the most.
Thank you Nancy! I don’t decorate as much as I used to either, but I still love to have some seasonal things around. I’ve spent the last few days stashing Valentines and bringing out Mardi Gras and St. Pat’s. The great thing about a decorative lantern is that it’s easily moved around for instant decor in the kitchen, family room, or on a table!
Your lantern is adorable Jenna! What a fun way to celebrate the holiday! The little flag on top is just perfect! I am getting ready to switch all mine over to spring. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend ahead!
Thanks so much Denise!
The lantern is super cute with the little leprechaun and a pot of gold! Be safe today, Jenna and Happy Thursday!
Thank you Pam โ๏ธ
How cute and adorable is this St. Patrick’s Day Lantern, Jenna! I’m sure your granddaughter loves it! My son was born on that day, too – at twenty-six weeks. It was a very difficult time for us but I know the luck of the Irish was shining on him!
Oh goodness! Yes you have a true Irish blessing!
Jenna, your lantern is absolutely precious with that cute little leprechaun! I canโt believe St. Patrickโs Day is just around the corner. Like you, I look forward to the spring holidays. Enjoy your day! Happy Thursday!

I love the before (Valentine’s), after (St. Patrick’s) shots. It gives me great inspiration for how you can change up one basic piece so it looks like something entirely different.
Thank you Linda โ๏ธ
So adorable. I have similar lanterns that I only think to decorate for Fall and Christmas. Your project is a great inspiration to decorate them for every season.
