St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Lantern

Welcome to the monthly Creative Craft Hop!

A big Thank You to Sara from Birdz of a Feather for hosting 💕

I love all the early Spring holidays~

My son was born on Valentine’s Day

and my granddaughter’s birthday is St. Patrick’s Day

I have decorated a lantern for Valentine’s Day

It’s time to decorate it for St. Patrick’s Day!

I lined the bottom with paper cocktail napkins

Then I decided to use a painted leprechaun vase,

it was the perfect size

I filled it with a few faux forsythia branches

and perched a green velvet leprechaun hat on top

A lucky napkin was placed in front of the vase

with a pot of gold and a mini treat bag

Another pot of gold and some gold coins…

you can’t ever have too much gold ☘️

Irish flags are stuck in the top

Shamrocks, and a shamrock garland decorate the top

and a large lucky shamrock hangs on the door hook

May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Jenna, Your St. Paddy’s Day lantern is super cute and oh so festive! I know your leprechaun is happy to be locked safely inside with a stash of gold. 🙂

Leave it to you to come up with something so fun and creative Jenna! My favourite colour is green but you’re right that one can never have too much gold :).

How fun is that lantern? I love St. Patrick’s day too. I was just getting my SPD decor out yesterday. This gives me a ton of inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing!

What a great idea! I use to decorate for little holiday like these. But as I get older (I’m 75) I’m trying to simplify. This is so helpful to confine it to the area we our in the most.

    • Thank you Nancy! I don’t decorate as much as I used to either, but I still love to have some seasonal things around. I’ve spent the last few days stashing Valentines and bringing out Mardi Gras and St. Pat’s. The great thing about a decorative lantern is that it’s easily moved around for instant decor in the kitchen, family room, or on a table!

I love the before (Valentine’s), after (St. Patrick’s) shots. It gives me great inspiration for how you can change up one basic piece so it looks like something entirely different.
