Fearless Friday, with Fearless Guest Artist CC

These abstract watercolors were painted by my granddaughter CC

when she was 3 years old

CC 1

She was definitely fearless!

CC 2

These paintings then inspired me to create Fearless Friday

with an art tutorial as a regular weekly feature

CC is now 10 and she is still loving art

and fearlessly drawing and painting

She spent a couple of days with me this week

so I thought it would be fun to “interview” her

and share her process with you

“CC, when you sit down to paint

how do you decide what you want to paint?” I asked

“Well,” she said, “I think about what I like

The other day I was thinking about my dog Ben so I painted him

Today I’m thinking about cookies

so I am going to paint this snack bag of Chips Ahoy!”

She used my mini fan to dry her layers of paint

These hand held personal fans are great for using with watercolors

you can pick one up from Amazon here

She also has an online Art shop with items printed with her artwork,

very similar to my Society 6 Shop

The website is Artsonia

It is affiliated with her school to promote children’s artwork

Whenever an item is sold 20% of the profits

are donated back to her school

I have a sketchbook {above} and a mug {below}

If you look very closely at the mug,

the abstract design has a hidden message!

Her whole class was assigned to design their name this way,

it is not her original idea~

I still think it’s super creative!

The center diamond has a circle of “C”s,

the next larger diamond has a border of “H”s

followed by a circle of “A”s

Then a large diamond of “R”s, then slightly smaller “L”s

Then a diagonal of smaller hot pink “O”s

Then tiny “T”s and very small “E”s

which spells out her name, Charlotte!

I love this colorful abstract too~

I hope she continues to love to create!

Have fun with your art like CC does and
