Pineapple Salsa

Are hot dogs and hambugers part of your summer menu plans?

Amp them up with pineapple salsa!

Even though most people think Mexican and spicy

when salsa is mentioned in the culinary world,

it is actually a term used widely in other languages,

meaning sauce

This wonderful topping is so easy to make,

you can have a Pineapple Cocktail while it’s simmering away

Saute thinly sliced onion and pineapple tidbits

in a little butter & olive oil

This pineapple onion salsa is tangy sweet

and the perfect topping for a smokey grilled burger

with extra sharp Vermont white cheddar

😋

Elevate a simple dog by stuffing it with Pineapple Salsa

and wrapping it in bacon

I cooked these in the oven, but you can definitely put them on your grill

These hot dogs only take minutes to prepare,

and cooking them on a parchment lined baking sheet

makes clean up a breeze

Precook your bacon a little to ensure it gets crispy

Put dogs on a toasted bun and cover with additional salsa

Such a tasty summer meal!

yummy Jenna…I love pineapple and pairing with onions sounds so good to me. The Captain and I just had pineapple juice with our breakfast and it is so refreshing. We drink different juices for variety…apple, pineapple, cranberry,…or anything citrus. thanks my friend. 🥰. Have a happy and safe 4th

I frequently have my burger without the bun. This salsa would elevate it to a new level!

Jenna! This is BRILLIANT! I have made pineapple salsa in the past, but it’s the distant past. I never thought to put it on a hotdog, but considering I have both hot dogs and buns, I am definitely going to make this.

  7. This sounds very intriguing. I had pineapple rice once in an Asian restaurant and I really liked it. It was not sweet at all.
