Gifts from the Kitchen, Lemon Chive Butter & Pear Raspberry Vinaigrette

These are lovely little tasty touches to your everyday roll, vegetable or salad. Easy to make, divine fresh flavor to infuse your food. Either one of these would make such a thoughtful and appreciated little gift!
A little thought, and a little ribbon and a delightful treat is born…
With a ripe pear this dressing is only a minute away!
Peel and chop a ripe pear and put it in a deep bowl, blender or food processor
The raspberry flavor comes from Raspberry White balsamic vinegar that was given to me by a sweet friend. There are so many flavored vinegars and oils now, it’s fun to look through the selections and experiment. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend.
I like to use an immersion blender for this kind of recipe because its so easy to clean up with a quick soapy hot water rinse off. My son, HHjr, gave this to me for Christmas and I LOVE it! I use it all the time, it’s only about $34, so get a BBB coupon and treat yourself to one!
Once its blended
Pour it into a jar for easy storage or gifting
Here’s the recipe:

PEAR RASPBERRY VINAIGRETTE
Ingredients
- 1 ripe pear – peeled cored, and chopped
- 1-2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tsp. Raspberry white balsamic vinegar
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup olive oil
Instructions
- Blend the pear, white wine, garlic, Dijon mustard, white balsamic vinegar, black pepper, and sea salt in a blender until well combined; drizzle the olive oil into the mixture in a thin, steady stream while continuing to blend. Blend a few seconds longer until the salad dressing is thick and creamy. Makes about 1 cup
Notes
The lemon butter is good for topping fish, vegetables or with any bread…it is divine on a slice of sourdough toast
or fresh asparagus, Yum!
Let the butter soften at room temperature for several hours
Top it with the chives, shallots, lemon juice and seasonings
Incorporate it all together by mashing well with a fork
Form the mixture into a log and wrap it up tightly in saran
Here’s the recipe:

LEMON CHIVE BUTTER
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter softened and divided
- 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped shallot
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives divided
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Combine ingredients and roll into a log. Wrap in saran and store in refrigerator. Cut into slices to serve. Makes about 6 servings
Enjoy!

Wonderful made-with-love gifts from the kitchen Jenna! I love my immersion blender, it’s perfect for this application and I love Clare Robinson’s five ingredient recipes too!
These look wonderful, Jenna. I don’t have an immersion blender. I think I should put one of these on my “list”.
Well we are starting our summer months down here in Florida…and all of this sounds so refreshing for the season we are going into♥
Wonderful recipes and gift giving ideas! (or keeping at home and gobbling up!) 🙂

I NEED one of those immersion blenders!!!!!! I have seen them in the stores, but I never really knew exactly what function they serve. They always show it making an ice cream shake (I can definitely get into that!!!), but I wanted to justify the purchase further. You just did that for me! 🙂
These food gifts are so much nicer than those you would find in a basket that are processed foods!!! I would go ga-ga over that lemon butter!!!!!
Oh, I am drooling over both of those. Truly! I almost can taste the vinaigrette! Sounds like an amazing flavor combination. I am pinning this one!
I’m keeping this recipe, this vinaigrette will be great. Thanks.
Fresh, light, versatile. As Tyler/Bandy says, “a keeper.” I’m captivated by your balsamic vinegar, too. Thanks for adding this wonderful recipe to Foodie Friday.
That lemon chive butter looks amazing! 🙂 I followed you from the Sunflower Supper Club link party. Also, I’d like to invite you to come link up with me at my link party! I’d love it if you could stop by & link up some of your recipes! Here’s the link: http://anyonitanibbles.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/Tasty-Tuesdays-8-features-ad.html
