Take-out Tuesday, Buried Treasure Biscuit Bites

You don’t have to be a pirate to find the treasure in these biscuits, they are loaded with loot!

Just 5 little innocent ingredients~ pretend you see pecan halves in the picture too~

Melt a stick of butter and cut biscuits into 1/8s.    Roll around in the butter in your baking dish

Top with crumbled bacon and bleu cheese.     Add pecan halves if you really want to be sinful

Using your fingers toss the dough pieces with the toppings to distribute evenly

Bake at 375 for about 25-35 minutes~the edges will brown first so make sure the dough in the center is done before removing from the oven

Try to keep the dough pieces in an even single layer for the best results

Use a serving spoon to serve onto plates, then dig in with your fingers!

These are better than your average dubloons, I mean biscuits!

Buried Treasure Biscuit Bites

  • Servings: 8
  • Difficulty: easy

12 Pillsbury Grands biscuits*

4 oz bleu cheese

6 slices thick bacon, cooked

4 oz pecan halves

1 stick butter

Melt butter in a ceramic or glass baking dish.  Cut biscuits into 1/8s and gently roll around in the butter.  Top with bleu cheese, bacon and pecan halves, gently distributing toppings on and around biscuit pieces.  Bake at 375 for 25-35 minutes.  Check the middle of the dish to make sure the inner dough is cooked.  The outer edges will brown sooner than the middle will cook.

*12 biscuits is 1 1/2 cans.  Cook the other 4 biscuits for tomorrow’s breakfast or increase pan size and add some more topping ingredients to use 16 biscuits, making 12 servings.  Make sure the biscuits pieces are in a fairly single layer for even cooking.
