The Organized Life, Laborless Labor Day Weekend Recipes

Do you have special plans for Labor Day weekend?
I do a lot of back and forthing, from the coast to the city, and I like to have a general food plan to keep things running smoothly
This week I’m gathering favorite Labor Day dishes, that will be simple to make, you know, Laborless recipes ๐
Blue Raspberry Bread with Orange Glaze, can be made ahead of time and frozen
Stone Fruit and Berry Salad will be great for lunch or a side with dinner
Chocolate Cashew Pecan Cookie Bars are always requested, a version of 7 layer bars, using crescent rolls as the crust
My family insists on a homemade snack mix, so I’ll be making a big batch of sweet and salty Harvest Snack Attack
We will need a dip, like this hardy Enchilada Dip, for the first Alabama game of the season
Roll Tide Roll! ๐
I think I’ll keep breakfast simple and serve Breakfast on a Stick
Island Time Chicken Wings cook in the Slow Cooker so we can play all day
We’ll keep sides simple with roasted vegetables like Broccoli Candy
and Honey Roasted Carrots with Green Beans and Sesame Seeds
You can’t go wrong with Magic Mac & Cheese 1-2-3, all you do is put cooked pasta in a dish and add cheese and milk and it bakes up like magic, no Labor at all!
We will want to celebrate the end of summer with Grilled Hawaiian Chicken in a Pineapple with Summer Saffron Rice Bake
Boneless chicken thighs skewered with fresh sweet pineapple slices will take you straight to a tropical island ๐
Summer Saffron Rice Bake is full of summer corn and zucchini, yellow rice, a creamy sauce and cheese
It freezes like a dream too, so make it ahead of time, bake it and stash it in your freezer~
I think after the hottest summer on record this year, we will all be celebrating the end of summer~
Just try to keep it Laborless!

[…] and think, “GREAT idea”? That’s how I felt when I saw The Painted Apron’s Laborless Labor Day recipe roundup. I love a good Labor Day bbq, especially one on Saturday as the Alabama Crimson Tide kick off, but […]
Love your Laborless round up of recipes Jenna! I’m wishing I had a slice of your raspberry bread this morning! Everyone is well fed at your house ๐
It looks like you are ready for the crowds to ascend for the holiday weekend. I’m betting your raspberry bread would work with wild Maine blueberries so I’ll be making it.
What wonderful recipes! They all look scrumptious and I do know I will try them! I’m going to have to have that cranberry bread first!
Thank you for the nice recipes.
Yum! What time is breakfast served? I’ll be there! (wink)
Actually, we will be spending time at our cabin as it is the kickoff weekend for my husband and his buddies for dove hunting. And my son is starting LSU this semester and made the drumline. My husband played football for LSU back in the day, so every Sat. night we still go to all the games. Now we have the extra bonus of watching our son play! Fun!
Have fun and congrats on your son! I am disappointed that you wonโt be on the coast, I was hoping to talk you into staying over for the Gulf Coast Bloggers meeting. I guess we will be football rivals, we are Alabama all the way!

Oh, I would love to attend a Gulf Coast bloggers meeting in the future. Please keep me posted on the details.
Here’s to enchilada dip and football! Woo Hoo:@)
Jenna, I wish I were as organized as you in the food planning. You always have a great plan for get-togethers everything you are serving always looks perfect. I know it will be a fun time for your lucky guests!
Youโre very sweet Emily! Yes, I have to be uber organized because I am commuting so much this time of yearโฆI stay flexible though, and I am always up for pizza delivery or a bag of Chick Fil-A! >
All of these look amazing! YUM!
Thanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!
