Home Decor, Things to do in October

Prayers to all in harm’s way from Hurricane Matthew…
It seems like everyone is wondering, “Where did September go?”
Here are fast ways to bring autumn into your home and fun things to do in October
Make a statement with a simple pumpkin stack
Outside or Inside
Make a decoration for your door or entryway with a basket or wreath and some fall stems
Plant a Harvest Tree inside
And light it up!
Make a double duty autumn table runner with faux pumpkins, vegetables, and other dried items to enjoy now and it will last through Thanksgiving
The ceramic pumpkin is sitting in a large moss green shallow bowl
The bowl is set into an autumn wreath of berries and leaves
Additional loose faux leaves, faux pumpkins and vegetables are set on top of a rustic burlap type runner
A grapevine wheelbarrow holds fall bounty and wooden owls peek out
Don’t forget the chandy
But watch out for flying witches!
Put some color in your planters with some quick “gardening”
Some orange sparkle mesh ribbon makes a comfy nest for a big pumpkin
Don’t forget the bedrooms when you are adding fall touches
Use colored pasta in a candle base or vase to add fall color
A candle or two can add instant ambiance and fragrance
Especially on a decorative tray
Like this easy to make Gold Glamour Tray
A few baubles and pieces of costume jewelry glued on a white tray with a gold dot trim, perfect for displaying Gold Leaf Glasses
Make a lantern vignette with pumpkins and gourds
Assorted paper orbs and grapevine balls fill this coastal fall themed lantern
You can’t beat a basket of apples to bring in the feel of fall…
If you’re not confident with painting letters or candy corn, try using the dot method, it’s simple, fun and effective. See more on Paint Dot Pillows and Candy Corn
Make a Halloween or Fall Treat Basket for a special friend or hostess with a fun basket and assorted fall goodies
If you don’t want to do a Halloween theme, fill it with apples, cinnamon and cider, faux autumn leaves, mini pumpkins, maybe a recipe for apple pie
It’s a good thing October has 31 days!
