Fearless Friday, Sunflowers & Simple Strokes

Today’s Fearless Friday combines sunny sunflowers and easy painted pieces in a tablescape for a Summer Tablescape Hop hosted by Katherine of Katherine’s Corner

Even though we are all starting to think about fall, summer’s not over yet so here we go!

Be sure to visit all the great summer tables by clicking on the blue frog at the end of the post

I set this sunny “table” for 2 on the elevated end of the kitchen island

the coastal breezes don’t come up until the afternoon in August, so it is HOT outside in the am

We love fruit for breakfast so there are plenty of options to choose from

Summer colors and happy painted abstract pieces mingle with sunflowers and pink roses for a bright start to the day

Mixing and matching

An orange rattan charger holds a poppy plate from the Pioneer Woman’s Walmart collection

The ceramic fish bowl and the shells on the burlap ruffle runner are a nod to our coastal location

See the easy shell & burlap ruffle table runner tutorial here, and the Chalk Painted Pitcher here

The mini dome in the centerpiece holds cookies for afternoon snacking

The mini cake dome is painted simply with stripes, dots and squiggles

I was inspired by my favorite designer,  MacKenzie-Childs

The pink roses are also just simple strokes

You can see the same roses on Little Miss Fancy below

Two strokes, like parenthesis, close together

The leaves too are just a quick small swoosh, I use both yellow and a dark green on my brush and let the colors mix when I stroke

Be sure to use paint made specifically for glassware and follow directions for curing

The abstract design on the tray and glasses is made with repetitions of polka dots, swoosh stroke, stripes and squiggles

I didn’t paint the chunky candlesticks, but it would be easy to create your own with simple strokes and colors

You can see a tutorial for Painting Silver candlesticks here and Custom Candlesticks here

Be Fearless and Enjoy the rest of summer or the season wherever you are!

  8. Jenna, you are so talented. First of all, I love your runner (color, burlap sea shells) so cute! And of course I love all your hand painted pieces. The colors are great! I also like all the pretty things in your tray with the varying heights.

I hope you have pretty weather at the beach. Very cloudy on Oak Mountain this morning!

In fact that one picture where I caught a glimpse of your walls and decor of your room…. I fell in love with it! Looks like your home would be right up my alley.
