Take-out Tuesday, Maple Bourbon Glazed Ham

In the spirit of keeping things easy in the kitchen,

this glazed ham can be baked in the oven or put on the grill

As it warms, brush it occasionally

with a decadent combo of maple syrup, butter and bourbon

Multiple brushes of glaze will add more flavor than just brushing once

This is a fully cooked small half ham that came already sliced

So much easier than slicing yourself!

I highly recommend using a silicone brush

silicone brushes are easy to use and easy to clean

You can see a variety of sizes and styles on Amazon here

this recipe is adapted from Umami

Maple Bourbon Glazed Ham

  • Servings: 4-6, makes about 1/2 cup glaze
  • Difficulty: very easy
  • Print

note: increase glaze ingredients as needed for a larger ham

1 small sliced half ham, about 3 lbs.

1/3 cup bourbon

3 T real maple syrup

2 T butter

Melt butter in a small sauce pan over high heat and add bourbon and syrup.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat to medium high and let cook, stirring occasionally, until reduced and thickened, about 10 minutes.  Warm ham according to package directions either in the oven or on a grill.  Brush glaze over ham every 10-15 minutes as it’s heating.

I love to get hams like this, there are so many ways you can enjoy the leftovers
