Take-out Tuesday, Meaty Marinara Bubble Up

.

Whether your kids are starting back to school in person or virtually,

it is important that we get back on regular schedules

One of my grandsons is only attending school 2 days a week,

but the other days he has to check in by 8:00

to begin his school day from home

.

.

Today’s recipe is a perfect one for busy days,

It is a fabulous 4 ~

4 ingredients,

fast prep,

family friendly

fills hungry bellies!

.

.

Only 4 ingredients plus seasoning!

.

.

All you have to do is brown the meat,

add it to the sauce, simmer, add biscuits and bake!

.

.

I used a combination of ground chuck and breakfast sausage

.

.

Drain browned meat and return to sauce pan

Add marinara sauce and seasonings

.

.

Cover and simmer on very low heat for several hours to build flavor

Do this ahead of time and refrigerate sauce until needed if desired

Tranfer sauce into a 9″ x 13″ shallow baking dish

Bring to room temperature if cold

.

.

Quarter biscuits

.

.

Place biscuit pieces on top of sauce, spacing evenly

Gently press dough down into sauce

.

.

Sprinkle with Parmesan

.

.

Now, this is where the magic happens…

Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes

.

.

The biscuits rise up and turn golden,

the sauce gets hot and bubbly,

the cheese melts …

.

.

And dinner is ready!

Serve it in a bowl with a fork and/or spoon

.

.

Dig in!

How easy is this! On my trip to the grocery I will be getting some biscuits so this can be on the table with salad tonight.

Jenna, love your Fergal Frog, handsome fellow! I love one one dish meals and this one sounds delicious. I’ll keep this for a busy fall day of working outside…………

This is a great idea! School starts in Hoover on Thursday, I think. It will be so strange to see and hear the school buses again. I don’t think I will be able to handle little kids wearing masks, though. I hope they don’t make the children wear them.

  6. This looks like a fun take on pasta without the pasta. Sounds very good and easy!

  7. Jenna, I am going to share this recipe with my daughter-in-love….we all would love this! I love’s Rao’s, I think they are the best bottled sauces that I have found! Happy Tuesday!

  8. Wow Jenna, what a great dish and just a few ingredients. Rao’s sauce is divine. Love your frogs…LOL

This sounds absolute great to me – sort of like a sloppy pizza bread. I even thought since it’s kid-approved that Mr P would like it! I’ll have to try it and see. Your artistry is adorable. I saw your comment on satisfying your urge to buy him…..lol, until maybe he goes on sale?

    • This is such an easy meal to throw together, and I think Mr. P would like it! My son, the foodie chef, wasn’t too impressed, but his boys each had seconds! Yes maybe Fergal will go on sale this winter!

  11. lghiggins says:

I really wanted to subscribe to your blog by email. But it says you have opted out of subscription e-mails! What? Help!!

    • hi Carolyn, I’ve been in touch with WordPress, my site server, and they said it’s due to settings on your WordPress.com account associated with that email address. You have opted out of emails from all WordPress.com sites, not just mine in particular.
So you would need to re-enable that in your WordPress.com account, they said you can reach out to wordpress for help with that if needed.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I would love to have you follow along! Thank so much!
