Super Bowl Valentine!

Okay, big weekend!

Super Bowl 🏈 today and Valentine’s Day ❤️ tomorrow!

Just in case you need a few super simple last minute recipes

I’ve rounded up easy peasy ones!

Let’s start with football food…

Do you have a can of chili in the pantry?

Put it in a crockpot, add some cheese

and you have an instant Chili Cheese Dip

Serve it with chips, smoked sausage, celery sticks,

even pigs in a blanket

All you need for Cheese Toasts

is bread, mayonnaise and cheese

You can cut the bread into squares or triangles

Or use a football, star or heart cookie cutter

to cut the bread into shapes

Spread with mayo, a sprinkle of garlic,

top with cheese and bake until golden

Do you have sour cream and green onions?

Make a quick Sour Cream & Chive Dip with these ingredients

adding crispy bacon, and grated cheddar

Antipasto Skewers make a wow presentation

and you can use up things you have in the fridge~

lunch meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers

Make them big or small!

Cheddar Cheese Cookies are one of my go to favorites,

all you need is butter, flour, cheddar and Worcestershire

These are like cheese straws but are round like a cookie

and you can top them with a pecan

and add red pepper for a kick, if desired

Make a pizza or flatbread with what you have on hand

You might think, “oh, I don’t have the ingredients to make a pizza”

but get creative, you actually do!

See all the possibilities on Create a Pizza

I know a lot of couples like to have a romantic dinner at home

instead of fighting the crowded restaurants

on Valentine’s Day

You probably have your menu already planned

but here are a few ways you can easily take it up a notch

If you’re having steak,

serve it topped with a special sauce or seasoned butter

1-2-3 Steak Sauce:

Ingredients

  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Dijon mustard
  • melted real butter

Instructions

  • combine equal parts Worcestershire, mustard and butter and top grilled steak as its cooking and after it’s done

Onion Bleu Cheese Sauce:

Ingredients

  • 2 T butter
  • 1/2 yellow onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2-3 T Worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bleu cheese

Instructions

  • Melt butter and saute the onions until golden brown, about 8 minutes.
  • Add cream and Worchestershire sauce.  Season with salt and pepper.
  • Let sauce come to boil, then add cheese.  Reduce heat and stir to melt.
  • Keep warm over low heat until serving.  Makes enough for 2-4 steaks

Caramelized Onion Herb Butter

Prep Time 30 minutes
Course condiment
Cuisine American

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 small sweet onion such as Vidalia, diced
  • Kosher salt
  • freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 T chopped flat leaf parsley
  • 1 T chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  • Place onion in a dry skillet with 1 tsp of salt.
  • Cook over medium low heat, stirring often, for about 30 minutes, adding more salt half way through.
  • Onions are done when they are caramel colored.
  • Combine with all other ingredients and place in a bowl or roll into a log and chill. Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
  • Place a generous slice on top of a hot steak when serving and it will melt into the meat adding more flavor

BLEU CHEESE SAUCE

Cuisine American
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1 c milk or half and half
  • 1 T flour
  • 1 1/2 T butter
  • 2 oz bleu cheese crumbled

Instructions

  • In saucepan whisk flour into milk, bring to boil and cook 1 minute or til thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add butter, stir til melted then add gorgonzola. Sauce will be thin, pour it over steak slices or put in individual bowls on the plates for dipping. Makes about 1 1/4 cups

Make your meal feel like you’re dining in a fine restaurant

by amping up your presentation

Even the simplest food can be elevated to special occasion

when it’s served on a pretty tray

Put a wow factor in your salad with

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Croutons

Cut garlic bread into strips

and insert them in a star pattern in your pasta dish

Add a fancy garnish to your food,

on top or on the plate~

fresh herbs, grated cheese, crispy bacon, fresh fruit

Pancake Pillows

Make some Valentine Cheese Muffins to go with your entree

Top dessert with fresh flowers

Rose Topped Coconut Bundt Cake

Most importantly enjoy and have fun!

Happy Superbowl Valentine!
