Take-out Tuesday, School Nights

School starts back tomorrow here, yikes!
Even though we’ll have summer temps until October,
it feels like Summer is over
The days and nights get hectic with after school activities~
I have rounded up some easy favorites that will help on busy days
or when you’re just tired and need something easy for dinner
When you don’t have time to cook burgers on the grill,
you can enjoy their flavors in the form of soup
Let it cook low and slow all day and it will be ready when you are

Loaded Chicken & Vegetable Taco Bake
Make ahead with rotisserie chicken
and refrigerate for baking when needed
You can leave off the vegetables on some of the tacos
if you have picky eaters
Sheet Pan Smoked Sausage, Broccoli & Potato Supper
Everything cooks on one pan lined with parchment for easy clean up
Cook the potatoes on one end of the pan for 30 minutes,
then add the sausage and broccoli for another 30 minutes
Three ingredients and a slow cooker and this dinner is a winner!

Sheet Pan Sausage & Marinara Sandwiches
Sausage, tomatoes and onions are roasted on a sheet pan
then put on toasted french bread with Marinara sauce
and topped with cheese

Best 4 Ingredient Dinner Ever can be put together in 15 minutes,
then refrigerated for baking later or even the next day
It has the comfort of macaroni & cheese and tomato soup
Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin Tacos
Pork tenderloin is cooked low and slow in an Asian pineapple sauce,
then shredded and served in tortillas
with an apricot BBQ sauce…
an easy busy day supper!
Chinese Take-out Ribs get a flavor boost from a hoisin sauce marinade
and then are baked in a pan covered with foil
on low heat for 4 hours for some very tender ribs
is an easy prep dinner that the whole family will enjoy
Slow Cooker Chicken & Sausage Pasta
Marinara sauce is flavored with chicken, sausage and Italian seasoning
Add the pasta and cheeses about 1/2 hour before serving
this family friendly meal

I hope you enjoy these easy and delicious dinners!

[…] Take Out Tuesday; School Night Meals – The Painted Apron […]
School is a month away here in NJ but I am sure any busy Mom will appreciate this collection of recipes.
Nothing fancy, but all very good!
So many yummy ideas! I’ve never thought about assembling tacos ahead and baking them to melt the cheese!
Thanks Carole, they are great this way!
Great ideas, and I really love the idea of the taco bake!
Thanks Dorothy!
I agree with Dorothy… I like the Taco Bake idea!
Great dinner tips!
Happy Tuesday!
Thank you Nancy, Happy Tuesday!
It seems impossible that school is starting. It starts here tomorrow, also. I agree that once school begins it seems that summer is over. What a wonderful round-up of recipes for busy days. Happy Tuesday, Jenna!
Thanks Pam, even if you’re not feeding hungry kids, these recipes are great for nights when you don’t feel like cooking!
School starts this week and next for my grands, Jenna. I’d like to make every single one of your meals! Thank you for sharing some of your favorites.
Thanks Kitty, these meals are great for those “I don’t want to cook” nights 🙂
Jenna, you have assembled a wonderful collection of recipes for busy days. I have made your bacon cheeseburger soup many times and love it. The taco bake looks yummy! Thanks for sharing these tasty recipes. Happy Tuesday!
I am so glad you like the cheeseburger soup Shannon, thanks for letting me know! I love all these easy to make meals, I don’t like to spend hours in the kitchen any more 🙂
What a yummy collection of recipes! I must try that slow cooker cheese bacon soup!
Thanks Angie, it’s a good one!
Some of the private schools have started this week here in north central Texas and these are some very tasty recipes for the occasion!
Thanks Mary, even if you’re not cooking for kids, these recipes are great for days when you’re short on time or energy~
I’ve said it a million times, but the despots in their ivory towers don’t listen: School should start the day after Labor Day! This is a delicious collection. I’m sure your grands will enjoy them.
Thank you Linda, I agree, but I will say, they get out before Memorial Day which is nice.
Are people without school children allowed to make your cheeseburger soup? you get me with “cheese” every time. Too hot and crazy to start school now.
These recipes are great for days you don’t feel like cooking, school or no school!
August is like that, isn’t it? You just feel like it is all ending and begin to gear up in new directions. Most kid-schools in Michigan start after Labor Day, universities in August. August is hard!
I think August is one of my least favorite months! But at least it’s not snowing!
Its great to have some easy and delicious recipes to draw from. These all look great. We still have a month before school starts here in Philadelphia area.
Thank you Judee, nothing fancy, but great easy dinners!
Jenna, this is a great collection of recipes. I love easy one pan cooking, sure makes clean up a breeze. School started back last week for Connor! You are right, sure feels like summer is over.
Thanks Emily! I can’t believe Connor started back last week!
Such a tasty round up Jenna! I can’t believe kids are already starting back to school, especially when it’s still so hot. ♥
I know, it feels like summer is over…
Those chicken veggie tacos look so good! I hopped over and pinned the recipe. Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty!
Oh good, thanks Allyson!
What a great round-up of recipes Jenna – they are perfect for the lazy cook in me lol. The ribs looks delicious and that bacon cheeseburger soup sounds so yummy. I must try them both. The kids here start back after the labour day weekend but they also go until the end of June. Six of one, half-dozen of another I guess, as the saying goes. Have a wonderful week down there – we are in the middle of a heat wave and its supposed to be 95 tomorrow.
Thanks so much Kim, these days I am all about easy school or no school! We are having hot days too, we’ve been under an excessive heat warning all week and I’ve been hibernating inside in the A/C!
