Recipe Box, Apple Cinnamon Bubble-up

This is an easy, semi-homemade recipe with only 2 ingredients!

Yep, all you need is a can of apple pie filling

and 2 cans of regular size cinnamon rolls with icing

Cut the raw dough rolls into quarters

Put the pieces in a large mixing bowl and add apple pie filling

Gently fold apples into cinnamon roll pieces to combine

Transfer mixture to prepared 9″ x 13″ baking dish

Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes

or until roll pieces are cooked through and set

Let cool for 30-60 minutes and then top with icing

Cut into large squares to serve

Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave

Top with vanilla ice cream for dessert if desired

Apple Cinnamon Bubble-up

Only 2 ingredients and you can bake an amazing breakfast treat! Or top it with vanilla ice cream and have it for dessert!

Equipment

  • 9" x 13" greased or sprayed baking dish

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans 8 ct., regular size cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 1 can 21 oz., apple pie filling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Cut cinnamon rolls into 1/4s and put them in a large mixing bowl
  • Add apple pie filling to dough in bowl and gently fold apples into dough quarters with a large spoon
  • Transfer apple roll mixture to baking pan and spread out evenly in dish
  • Bake for 15 minutes and check. Continue baking for 5 more minutes or until rolls are set and cooked through.
  • Let cool for 30-60 minutes. Top with icing.
  • Serve for breakfast or top with vanilla ice cream for dessert
  • Store covered at room temperature or in the refrigerator
  • Reheat servings in microwave for 20 seconds if desired

Notes

If you use Grands size cinnamon rolls baking time could be different and you might need a larger pan. I used regular size rolls and they fit perfectly in the 9″ x 13″ dish with room to puff up
