The Organized Life, My Dream Studio

Whether you are a professional or an amateur, whether you work in an office or at home, your environment has a lot to do with your productivity, your creative process, and your happiness

I was inspired by  WeWork, working spaces that are dreamy, gorgeous, yet affordable, because they are shared office spaces. What a great concept!

Studios or offices in the same space allow people to gather inspiration from each other and have a sense of community, like Park South in NYC

I have often considered a studio outside my home, but ultimately the kitchen is where I’m happiest, whether I’m painting, crafting or cooking, or most likely all 3… and sharing this space with my family,      but…

Recently fantasizing about my Dream Closet got me to wondering, what if I could have a real studio, what would it look like?

I would love more storage and display space

Isn’t this a great idea for recycling old paint brushes?

How about this for a light fixture?

I am actually very lucky to have a space to work in that I love, and I’ve shared it with you before here

Because it’s part of my kitchen I have to Hide things in Plain Sight

This cabinet holds lots of supplies and opens up, forming a large desk space where I paint glassware

The original finish was maple which you can still see on the inside

The most important part of my studio is my rolling chair

It’s just a standard cushioned desk chair that I dressed up with some fabric

I love to decorate it for holidays too,  the Haunted Halloween Mansion is quite at home here

There are lots of Pumpkin Possibilities here  for November

I have an Accidental Tree for December

As much as I would love having a space like this

I love my little studio space just as it is…

Hmmmm….I think I need to paint that door

Even if it’s just a vase of fresh flowers or a small framed photo, make your work space a place that feels good and a little special…

Fantastic studio space! I am still working on mine, but it’s in the basement and lacks all of that wonderful light that yours has!

  2. Jodi says:

your space is beautiful – and wow all the inspiration! Love those paint brush handles!

  3. I love your cozy & creative workspace, Jenna! And I like that it is so near the heart of the home (the kitchen). I have a craft room/office in one of the bedrooms in our N.O. home where I had custom shelves built on an entire wall to house my scrapbooks (I am a dedicated memory keeper) and craft supplies. It is my cozy little spot where I can dream up scrapbook layouts or read quietly. One of my favorite magazines is Where Women Create — have you seen this publication? Super creative and very inspiring workspaces for artists/businesswomen in different fields.
Have a great Sunday — and congrats on the Alabama win! (History was made at LSU last night when the game was completely canceled due to lightning and torrential rains! It was my son’s first game day to perform — bummer.)

    • Your space sounds dreamy Joanne, and I will have to check out that magazine, never heard of it, thanks! Can’t believe the LSU game was cancelled! Scary stuff, I know you were all disappointed 🙁 >

  4. Wow I was looking at those different ideas and thought cool, but your space is quite lovely! Love your chair you dressed up!

  5. Lynn says:

Love that space with the rainbow colors! Back when I was making stained glass I moved my studio to the big bedroom after the boys moved out… Moved back to my snug little 8′ studio within weeks! Sometimes you know you have the best place just by a feeling:@)

    • oh stained glass, I had no idea! I agree about the feeling, it has to feel right, big spaces just mean a lot of walking…I would love to have that rainbow paint chip wall somewhere though… >

  6. Mary says:

Love those paint brush door handles Jenna! I admire your organizational skills and ability to keep your studio tidy next to your kitchen!

  7. Trish Martin says:

    I love your studio space.

Oh, I adore seeing others’ creative spaces. And, yours is no exception. I love all the clever ways you’ve organized it. It definitely screams creativity and makes me want to get back in mine and continue the unpacking/organizing process. Thanks for the eye candy and inspiration! 🙂
