Home Decor, Creating a Coastal Feel

I am spending the month of July seaside,
and today I want to share ideas
for bringing the beach to your home any time you want

Naturally art comes to mind,
it can instantly transport you to the beach
or bring the coastal feeling into your home
“Sea Oats” available here
Making accessories with paint and sea shells is easy and fun,
recycling and decorating at the same time!
See the how to for the bottle here and the tray here

Embellish a decorative bottle with twine and seashells

Create a Washed Ashore Centerpiece,
fill a tray or shallow basket with shells, netting,
sea glass, bottles and boats

Fill candle hurricanes and lanterns with seashells and beachy things
for instant beach decor

Fill your home with beachy accessories
There is a great selection in my Society 6 Shop
See the Take me to the Sea collection here
and the Tropical collection here

Treat yourself to a festive Pineapple Cocktail
Make a Bahama Beach Bundt Cake
it’s tropical blue with brown sugar sand and white chocolate seashells

Or make a batch of Beach Bum Butter Rum cupcakes
and top them with a colorful umbrella

Throw pillows are a great way to quickly change out your decor
These are available in my Society 6 shop here

Turn your dinner table into a vacation experience
by using a coastal theme
Create a centerpiece or table runner with fish, shells,
a lighthouse and nautical things

Create a little beach town with wood cottages and small adorandak chairs

A fresh pineapple will take you straight to the tropics!

Candlelight reflecting off of blue and green glass,
and centerpiece with a tall bottle and a lantern filled with glass

A cute pair of flip flops and a sign to the beach
will make you almost feel your toes in the sand

A centerpiece of faux palm leaves will help you feel the sea breezes…

Set your table with a school of colorful fish and palm tree candlesticks
and you’ll feel like you’re right by the water

I saved my favorite for last,
decorate a holiday tree for summer!

A big splash of coastal fun!

Thanks so much Carole, you’re welcome to visit any time!
Have never thought of having a summer beach tree! What a splendid idea! I love the table set up and that gorgeous view!
Thank you Angie, the tree stays up year round decorated with seasonal themes, we enjoy it so much 🙂
All such great ideas Jenna, everything you do works out so beautifully!
Thank you Martha, so nice of you!
Jenna, you have given us such wonderful coastal decorating ideas. Your beachside home always looks so pretty! The “Sea Oats” painting is gorgeous and makes you feel like you could just step inside and walk along the path. I love paintings that invoke that feeling. Enjoy your time seaside! Happy Sunday!
Thank you so much Shannon, Sea Oats is one of my favorite paintings…
Such great ideas, Jenna. I love your washed ashore centerpiece! That bundt cake is awesome too. You artwork always draws me in and, of course, the tablescapes! So glad you’ve been able to spend July at the shore.
Thank you Rita, life here is effortless, and it’s been fascinating to watch the pier building process, I’m hoping they get a lot done this week…can you believe we are 2/3 into July, this summer is flying by!
Happy Sunday Jenna! I hope you’re enjoying some sunshine while seaside and it’s not a wash out! Love your round up and virtual trip to the coast. Happy Sales to you ♥
The rain has mostly been very brief showers, often with the sun still shining! But enough so I don’t have to water the plants…like you I don’t love dragging the hose around!
Spectacular! I’m now closing my eyes and I’m walking on the beach.
Thanks Dorothy, I hope you enjoyed your “stroll”…
Jenna, this post makes me long for a beach trip. Your round up is filled with great ideas and food perfect at the beach or anywhere you happen to be!
Thank you Pam, I hope you and Butch get to travel soon!
Love all of these! The beach is my happy place and that’s where I’m headed tomorrow! This post is so fitting as I am ready to change out my red, white and blue tablescape to my beach love setting. Great minds think alike Miss Jenna! Hehe! 🏖🌞🌊🐚
Oh wonderful Cyndi, have a great vacation! Where are you going?
I am headed to our local Lighthouse Beach which is at the mouth of Lake Huron and only approx. 14 miles from my house. We are blessed with all this fresh water and I can never get enough of it. Just finished a vacation (with my girlfriend from New Mexico) and we traveled to the Upper Peninsula, touring that area of my Great Lakes State and really enjoyed seeing waterfalls, the vast Lake Superior and many lighthouses. We had a great time! 🌊🐚😉
Oh that all sounds wonderful! What wonderful lakes you have all around you! Lighthouses fascinate me…enjoy!
So many pretties to look at today dear Jenna. I love all things beach and especially since I just got home over the weekend from the beach. My laundry room has a mess of beachy things and I love it. Happy week to you, Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Thank you Cindy, nothing better than sand and water views!
Jenna, you magical touch is so perfect for beach and seashore ideas. All the art of course and the tablescapes. I love how you add pineapples to your scapes. I’ve always thought your beach tree is so creative to capture the love of summer and the beach. I can’t wait until I can get to the shore and feel the sand beneath my feet. Love this!
Thanks so much Emily! I hope you didn’t wash away yesterday, my son sent me videos of the river running down our driveway! There was heavy rain here last night and early this am, I’m hoping the sun is back out soon…rainiest summer ever!
I loved your beach chair painting! I put my mantel back together when I went home for a couple of days last week and yes –seashells were a part of it. I love all your paintings here and your pretty tables and all the cute accessories. It’s a fun post!
Thanks so much Jeanie, sea shells always bring thoughts of the seashore to mind instantly, and that is always relaxing and summery!
