Watercolor Crayons
One of my besties, who ia also an artist,
gave me a tin of watercolor crayons
The crayons are the same size as regular crayons
and they come in this compact tin case

The first thing I did was to see how they worked

I blended the marks with water and made a color chart

I found a photo of 3 simple flowers that I used for reference
Then I dove right in, not knowing what to expect
I drew the outline of the blooms
and then started blending in the outlines
with water and a brush

I quickly realized I needed more crayon to fill it out

I finished the blooms, adding a touch of yellow in the centers,
and added stems and leaves

I added some scribbles of yellow and green to blend for the backgound

I went over the painting with a fine liner pen
to clean up the edges and add a few details

In some ways the crayons are very similar to watercolors,
but they are also very different
I’m looking forward to playing with them
experimenting and exploring what they can do!
Note: This set came fom an art store but I found a similar set on Amazon here. It is very inexpensive and a great way to learn how to paint with watercolors
