Take-out Tuesday, What’s for dinner?

The age old question we face daily is
“What’s for dinner?”
Sure there’s always take out or delivery,
or the same old tired standbys
But how about something a little more exciting!
If you want to make something a little different
and don’t want to go to the store,
take inventory and create a new masterpiece!
I took a quick look in the pantry, fridge and freezer
I try to keep crescent roll dough, biscuits and puff pastry in stock
because it’s so handy for breakfast,
last minute appetizers, pizzas and casseroles
Here’s what else I had…

Let’s get creative and see what we can whip up
choosing one or two ingredients from each category
These can all be served as a main dish
or paired with soup or salad for a meal

Chicken Bacon Asparagus Stuffed Crescent Bake

Asparagus in a Cloud {Add ham, bacon or chicken if desired for a heartier version}

Here is a chart with an easy to remember formula
for creating a masterpiece!

It’s amazing to discover that you actually have plenty of food
if you just take a minute to look and think…
Now here’s the thing,
yes, I had all of these foods,
but much of the quantities were limited,
a little leftover this and a few of that,
but combined with several other ingredients,
there were actually endless possibilities!

Have fun creating a new delicious dish for dinner!

Great ideas! I rarely use jarred pasta sauce, but I keep the Rao’s on hand because it really tastes like homemade and contains just food ingredients, no chemicals and preservatives!
I do love the Rao’s sauce too Dorothy, and I do admire your healthy cooking style…I seem to be Queen of the short cuts these days 😂
Well, this is a really good short cut! I was amazed the first time I tasted it, it really did taste like homemade and I’m glad to serve it!
Jenna, I am hungry this morning and all of these look delicious! The bacon/asparagus bread looks especially scrumptious. Thanks for sharing such great ideas! Happy Tuesday!
Thanks so much Shannon, some days you just don’t want to go to the store!! The bacon asparagus braid is yummy 🙂
Those look good! I love seeing what people tend to have on hand. I always have shrimp and lemons, pasta of some sort, tomato puree or sauce I froze, olives (two kinds) and eggs (along with baking staples.) No matter what else is missing I can usually punt from that!
Wow, shrimp?? Do you keep it in your freezer? With both my son and I liking to cook and go to the grocery store, we usually have plenty of food, in fact it’s time to go through the freezer and see what we’ve forgotten about!
I want to make each of those, Jenna! It’s a good idea that you keep those staples in your pantry and fridge. I always have cheese, eggs, and a freezer full of meats and veggies.
Thanks Kitty, I made the chicken cordon bleu bubble up last night with just a few chicken fingers and some deli ham, and it was amazing! Isn’t it nice to be able to whip something up without shopping? 🙂
They all look so GOOD! I love esp. the asparagus bacon braided loaf!
Thanks so much Angie, asparagus and bacon is one of my favorite combos 🙂
Jenna, all those look delicious. I love flatbread and should make your recipe for company this weekend. I always have Rao’s and pasta in my pantry. I can always come up with a pasta dish for dinner. Thank you for all of the fabulous recipes. Happy Tuesday!
You’re so welcome Pam, and flatbread is always a hit in my book! Pasta is a great staple, and I usually have some in my pantry or freezer also, hmmm, I better restock!
Great post! All of those look delicious and so much tastier than take-out.
Thank you Linda, although I must admit, Door Dash comes to our door about once a week 😂
😂

Your creations are quite exceptional considering you based it just ingredients you had in the house. Evertyhing looks delish and I love your watercolor too.
Thanks so much, I realize my recipes are a long way from gluten free, so I appreciate you stopping by!
What a fun post! Everything looks so delicious. Honestly, puff pastry plus almost anything can make a great meal.
Thank you Pattie, and I so agree, puff pastry plus anything is a winner!
These all sound delicious!!
Thanks Joanne, I love to create things with crescent roll dough, biscuits or puff pastry 🙂
Your braids look yummy Jenna! Anything wrapped in puff pastry or crescent roll dough is a winner in my book! ♥
