I’ve been relaxing at the beach this past week,
lots of fun, friends, fireworks and fish!

The guys love to go fishing, especially during Snapper season

They’ve caught some big ones!

CC brought her gymnastics mat and it didn’t take the kids long
to discover it made a great slide into the pool

We caught some great firework shows over the 4th of July weekend
put on by several resorts near by
The children thought night swimming was so much fun

Especially with fireworks!

We kept the meals simple all week,
nothing fancy just good old standbys~
Here are some recipes that jazz up these stand by favorites
Cheeseburgers with Pineapple Salsa

Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken and Bacon Kebabs

Blackened Snapper Tacos with Pico de Gallo

The week was ended with the annual July Blue Angels Air Show
which we can see by boating over to Pensacola Bay
It is an incredible display!

Today I am catching my breath and finishing up the laundry and cleaning
after everyone left this morning
I will enjoy a quiet day or two
before heading back to the city
Stop by on Tuesday when I will share a delicious appetizer recipe
that we enjoyed last week
I will be joining these fabulous parties and blogs:

Looks like a wonderful time, and such good food!
Thanks so much Carole!
Looks like the kiddos had a fabulous Fourth. You had a great menu for the summer holiday week. Hope you are getting lots of cool beach breezes, unlike here, it’s hot!
Hi Emily, thank you, we had a great week and it wasn’t ever too hot, we had some rain showers too…heading north tomorrow, not looking forward to city heat!
Jenna, I know your week with your children and grands was fabulous! How wonderful to catch red snapper, it is one of my favorites! Your food sounds perfect as does the week!
Happy Sunday!
Thanks Pam, we really did have a ball, good times!

Happy New Week to you!

I am so happy that you have been enjoying the summer and the life, Jenna. That’s a huge fish!
Thanks Angie!
What a great fourth! I just love the idea of night swimming — and your firework view. That had to be the best week! That snapper is a stunner — I love it and it seems it’s always hard to find fresh here. What a great batch of dinners. Looks fours star!
We had so much fun and as you can tell, we ate well! Thanks so much Jeanie!
Sounds like a perfect family vacation and way to celebrate the Fourth! What a piece of paradise!
Hi Rosie! I hope you and yours had a wonderful 4th too!

Jenna, it looks like you have had a fabulous time! The menu sounds delicious and perfect for these warm summer days. The patriotic painting you closed your post with is beautiful! Happy Sunday!
Oh, thank you Shannon, we did have so much fun! I told my son he was going to need a vacation from his vacation, he did most of the cooking, and I felt like I barely did anything!
What a great 4th of July! That snapper–both the catch and in tacos is so impressive. Enjoy a few days of rest before you head north. 😉👏🎉
Thanks Linda! I’m actually not tired at all, everyone always pitches in the everything is cleaned up and put away, good times, lots of laughs and fun!
What fun pictures and so glad you had a fun week. Nice fish! Oh the kids always love night swimming don’t they? My grands sure do. The menu for the week sounds delicious. The red, white and blue painting is so pretty Jenna. Is there anything that you can’t do? Have a great week and yes, enjoy some “ME” time. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Aw thanks Cindy! We had such a good time!
What a blast! I bet the kids hated leaving, but time for some R&R (rest and recovery) now. Lol, CC’s mat for the pool is great. The menu looks amazing too!
Thanks Rita, we had so much fun!
Sounds like the perfect week! ❤️🇺🇸
it was, thank you Patty Anne!
The cheeseburger with pineapple salsa caught my attention – scrumptious!
Yes, worth a little extra effort! Thank you!
I’m so glad you had such a great week Jenna – everything looks like so much fun! Your “simple” meals are fit for a king! Looks like the kids certainly enjoyed themselves and that is one big snapper. Wow! Love the wreath! Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
Thanks so much Kim! Back to reality this week, which is always the hardest part of vacations 😂
A great time was had by all Jenna! I can only imagine how much fun the kids had night swimming with the fireworks and the boys fishing. I bet everyone sleeps well at night. 🙂 ♥
