Views from the Porch, 4th Fun & Menu

I’ve been relaxing at the beach this past week,

lots of fun, friends, fireworks and fish!

The guys love to go fishing, especially during Snapper season

They’ve caught some big ones!

CC brought her gymnastics mat and it didn’t take the kids long

to discover it made a great slide into the pool

We caught some great firework shows over the 4th of July weekend

put on by several resorts near by

The children thought night swimming was so much fun

Especially with fireworks!

We kept the meals simple all week,

nothing fancy just good old standbys~

Here are some recipes that jazz up these stand by favorites

Cheeseburgers with Pineapple Salsa

Coconut Shrimp

Asian Glazed BBQ Ribs

Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken and Bacon Kebabs

Teriyaki Tenderloin

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken

BBQ Pork Butt

Blackened Snapper Tacos with Pico de Gallo

The week was ended with the annual July Blue Angels Air Show

which we can see by boating over to Pensacola Bay

It is an incredible display!

Today I am catching my breath and finishing up the laundry and cleaning

after everyone left this morning

I will enjoy a quiet day or two

before heading back to the city

Stop by on Tuesday when I will share a delicious appetizer recipe

that we enjoyed last week

I will be joining these fabulous parties and blogs:

    • Oh, thank you Shannon, we did have so much fun! I told my son he was going to need a vacation from his vacation, he did most of the cooking, and I felt like I barely did anything!

What a great 4th of July! That snapper–both the catch and in tacos is so impressive. Enjoy a few days of rest before you head north. 😉👏🎉

The red, white and blue painting is so pretty Jenna. Is there anything that you can’t do? Have a great week and yes, enjoy some “ME” time. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

What a blast! I bet the kids hated leaving, but time for some R&R (rest and recovery) now. Lol, CC’s mat for the pool is great. The menu looks amazing too!
